  1. Well, drain is no longer in - thanks to Sid! I took him to the vets for a checkup this morning where we realied he'd managed to presumably eat the one end of it despite wearing a lampshade!. Vet decided to leave it but then phoned me later in the day because she decided to remove it following advice from a specialist. He has all air under his skin that cracles, most disconcerting! Please keep paws crossed that they won't have to open him up and put in another drain. He is now wearing the largest buster collar there is!

  2. Poor Sid is back, feeling very sorry for himself (stoical bassets usually bounce into the house demanding their dinner following an op). He looks a bit like a patchwork quilt and is wearing an Elizabethan collar to add to his miseries. However, he did jump up at the sound of the biscuit barrel!

  3. They did not operate on Sid until 2pm and the hole ended up being v large after the 3 cm margin was taken so the poor lad had to have a skin graft. His 10 minute op lasted well over an hour and a half with 2 vets. He's on a drip, has a drain and on heavy painkillers so will not be home until tomorrow afternoon at the earliest! :(

  4. Please think of poor Sid lab our Oldies foster that stayed - he has just been diagnosed with a mast cell tumour on his hind leg. Please hope that on Friday the vet is able to remove a good margin and it's a grade 1. As you who have met him will know, he has the most wonderful temperament and how he ended up in the pound is a complete mystery to us.
