I just ate two toasted tea cakes with a 22nd July date on em. I thoroughly inspected em and there was no mould. They were still lovely and moist.

It just landed in my inbox. thanks for the warning

I don't think you can generalise about any country. the UK allows horrific ( legal ) treatment of animals but its hidden in factory farms , equally every week we read stories of awful neglect and abuse of domestic animals
I agree completely.
(I just didn't say anything here because it is an argument that I personally have done to death elsewhere)
-
I did the other day. I'd just assumed it would already be on here so didn't start a topic - sorry.

I have grown by 3lbs. I have not been able to run for 4 weeks now (I tried once about 2 weeks ago and just made my foot worse) so that will account for some of it. I'm on holiday from work and skint so not alot to do really apart from go to the allotment. I'm mostly sitting around and eating cos I am bored. Also since Grandad died last week I have not been very on top of things and that includes eating proper food - I kept scoffing junk.

It is a bit far for us to go, but I did vote for Foal Farm on the Money Saving Expert charity vote

I'd recommend Chamonix in France. (You can fly to Geneva v cheap and then get a 50min transfer)
It is great both summer and winter. I have never seen anything horrid there. There are lots of dogs to fuss (all with owners). I've never seen a stray.

I have a friend running with me on Sunday and she works in BBC TV Centre. I will tell her that the charity I am running hobbling for is run by a lady who works on that building site
What is your job Sam?

I think only your union can answer your question.
Me too and I'd get the answer in writing

Okay, signing up for this, because there's no more denying that I need to lose a stone. Now where do I start?
I don't know that there is an answer to that. There are lots of different ways of doing it so I guess you need to find what suits you.
The general rule is take in less calories than your body uses, but not a drastic cut, they say reduce your intake it by no more than 10 - 15%. You can work out your BMR (the calories that your body needs per day). If you would like a hand to do that then feel free to ask
I had gained a stone and I have very slowly lost almost 3/4 of it by making a few changes, such as no eating after 8pm (I used to literally scoff snacks late at night), walking to work a few times a week, plus some running (though this has been sporadic, and recently non existant due to bad back etc).
-
Actually went for a run tonight. Not been for 4 weeks because I had a bad back again and then sprained my ankle I am doing a 10k race in aid of Dogstar on 20th July.
I think I might have eaten quite alot of cr@p this week

Leon sounds fab, is it a southern chain or do they venture North
London only unfortunately.
-
you need to email Mark or I the details of the run missues so we can do the biz for you ( if its the run I am thinking off )
I think I sent it to your dogstar one. Will do it again incase.
I'm in love with Leon. I had a 3 day conference last week and took a map with all Leons circled on it so that I knew where to get suitable food
-
soooo I am back in here looking for recipies for lovely real food and packed lunch type things
Well I'm not sure where you are working these days, but I was in London last week and found the best salad I'd ever eaten. I got it from Leon (there are 8 in London - dunno if you ever go in there?). I had an original superfood salad (broccoli, avocado, quinoa, peas, feta, alfalfa and seeds, with lemon and olive oil). Cor it was so nice I had it three days running.
They also have sweet potato falafel that are v tasty (though I suspect you dislike sweet potato - can't remember for sure). You can have em in a wrap with slaw or you can have em with brown rice and other stuff. Breakfast is good there too. I had porridge with strawberry compote, and a carrot and orange juice.
When I come down to Hyde Park for the run this month I will be going to Leon for my lunch

I have been through a list of all the stars and their names to see if there is one relevant... but I didn't find one....

This is really hard....

No I don't give her marrow bones - experience has shown that (for her) the marrow is just too rich and she ends up with a very runny bottom, even with just a small amount, and that makes her anal glands
Paul got Roar-ee one of these (well several actually and stuck em in the freezer). Roar-ee chomped away at if for ages..... and then threw up Freezer still full of em
-
I've not been in for ages....
I have gradually lost 6lbs, mostly by running and eating less cakes. Have not been able to run for 4 weeks due to bad back but have stayed the same weight. I reckon another 3lbs and I will be back in my favourite trousers. Plan to do that over the holidays.

Talked him out of Kirkland

Abigail which costco do you go to? If Brum. is Earslwood lakes nearer to you? The Hungry Horse at Earlswood sell Autarkey.
Ooh I didn't see this reply at the time - sorry. Thanks.
I'm on this thread cos our dogs no longer seem to want to eat Autarkey, so Paul has asked me to find out which kirkland one agrees with greyhounds and which gives them bad tums. It seems we need Lamb and Rice. (I don't want to go to Costco anymore but he insists - probably so he can browse the gadgets and buy some 'cheap' stuff that he doesn't really need)

Some work collegues were talking about 'bull breeds' in the staff room earlier this week. The usual stuff about them being 'aggressive' and worrying about them around kids.
I did say the problem is with the owners, not the dogs etc, and no dog should be left alone with kids, regardless of breed. Anyway, the reason I am telling you this is because there was a press release about RSPCA Adopt a Pet week and it mentioned Staffys were the least popular....
I'm going to pop it in the staff room

I've got it now
(Had to go to allotment and tidy up on pain of death/eviction)
