Nothing
I married my first Husband when I was 20 and it was through him that I met Pete when we were living in Germany Nothing at all happened between us at that time but we did fancy each other like mad - unbeknownst to each other.
Pete walked back into my life 12 years after I had last seen him, we were both single and knew pretty much from the start that we were meant to be together. We are soulmates, together now for nearly 11 years and married for nearly 7

I don't believe it was a fix, I think Mary was less appealling to the type of people who vote than all the others.
I'm pretty sure there is a hoo-ha atm as the finalists were chosen by sing-off rather than just the public vote as it has been in previous years. Apparently Mary had received more public votes than Cher.
Agree with you Steph about Cher and her album deal, even if it's true it wasn't very clever to have revealed that already although maybe it's a good thing as people will be less likely to vote for her as she is now less deserving of the main prize.

If you follow the link at the bottom called something like 'Why did you buy me that' some of the items on there put our auction trinkets to shame

Goodness me, I haven't laughed so much in ages!
Caution: some a lot of it is quite rood!

It really is money for nothing!
I recently took out a new mobile contract with Vodaphone which was the best value plan for my needs and that meant a whopping FREE £45 for Dogstar
Can I suggest that before anyone does any shopping online they check the list of retailers that support easyfundraising because there are hundreds of them, not just the big, well known companies

This info from Money Saving Expert looks useful for anyone buying toys

A programme tonight for Railway Squirrel
John Sergeant on Tracks of Empire
Unite and Divide The broadcaster embarks on a 3,000-mile journey to explore India's railway network, a legacy of British rule that now reaches every corner of the subcontinent. In Varanasi, he learns how the construction of the Dufferin Bridge caused Victorian ideals of technology and ingenuity to clash with ancient religious principles, and on the Pakistani border he recalls how Mahatma Gandhi denounced the railway as evil. Previously shown on BBC4
BBC2 London 9:00pm-10:00pm (1 hour ) Fri 3 Dec

Hello snowy December
Where has this year gone?
I have just discovered that mouse(es?) have been running riot on both shelves of one my floor standing kitchen cupboards. Cannot for the life of me understand how Inca and Magpie have been oblivious to this but for the sake of peace and quiet I do hope they continue to be!

It made perfect sense to me Sam but then I'm fluent in waffle!
I noticed how you had done that very clever thing recently where people could 'like' different bits of your website on FB. Brainy squirrel!

That's lots of useful info Sam

Mindy, your royal Festiveness, can I please ask a question?
As well as being rather bah humbug in this household we had to abandon all plans of putting our tree up since we bought the world's biggest sofa - there simply is no room.
However, I have been carefully studying your first tip and I reckon that with a bit of effort we could probably manage it. Is it acceptable to get to stage one and go no further?
Thanks in advance for your expert advice

I've been completing online forms for quotes for our travel insurance which needs to include pre-existing medical conditions.
OH has an irregular heartbeat and one of the questions for him was as follows:
Do you have the following fitted:
1. a pacemaker
2. a defibrillator
3. a pacemaker and a defibrillator
4. none of the above
5. Don't know
Don't know - WTF???!!!!
I know I'm a bit dense at the best of times but seriously, how could anyone not know whether they had one of these??

Good luck with this Sam and well done everyone else who has completed further education as adults. I really admire any one that can apply themselves to this as I know for a fact that I sure as hell couldn't.

Trudi, your story about the snowman really made me giggle
I reckon when you realised you were unable to match the head and the body up it must have been like one of those old Hamlet Cigar 'moments'

I'm having to have a really good think (difficult I know, bear with me )
The only thing that honestly springs to mind right now is being able to avoid the pain that I caused my first Husband (and myself) when I decided to leave him but that would have meant that we didn't love each other which simply wasn't true.
I'll be back later if I can think of anything else.
Oh, maybe learning to drive a bit sooner than I did (I was 27 when I passed my test) I think I would have enjoyed the extra freedom and independence that gave me, but I suppose what I never had at the time, I never missed (if that makes sense?)
