  1. A couple of pics

The second pic is Lola, tranny hen extrordinare

I did load up more but for some reason Photobucket hasn't stored em'

I think Lola is going to be a bit of a headache, I've already had to put purple spray on her toe, she managed to make it bleed whilst attempting to bash her way through the weld mesh  she seems to have calmed down a bit now, but the bad news is one seems to have Scaly Leg  which means they will all need doing, so it's off to the vets on Monday for some Frontline spray, luckily I use the spray anyway.

    They are lovely though

  2. Contact/organisation details: Emma, Rodent Rescue, 07929 095138, [email protected]

Location: Polegate (near Eastbourne) East Sussex

    Number of rats: 1

    Sex: Male

Age(s): Probably getting on for 24 months

    Name(s): Terry

    Colours: Agouti hoody

    Neutered: No

Reason for re-homing: Terry was part of the big rescue last July when 30 rats were removed from appalling conditions. He was re-homed with another rat, but sadly his cage mate has died recently and the owner no longer wanted Terry

Temperament: Fabulous, a real gentle and sweet fella, he has always been with other rats so should be quite easy to introduce to other rats

Medical problems: He is getting on and as consequence has respiratory problems. Which is of no surprise given the state he was originally rescued from last year. He is currently on a course of antibiotics.

Will the group be split: Not applicable

Transport available: Possibly, please see below

Other: All animals will ideally be re-homed within the local and surrounding areas to allow for home checks (if you are further afield please discuss with Emma as you may still be considered). An animal application and contract form will need to be completed please, as well as a donation. Start up kits are also available at a reasonable price. For further details please contact Emma

Rodent Recsue are looking for a loving home for Roxy, she is a lone female rat, about 4 months old. She was bought in early Febraury with another rat, but sadly her cage mate died last month. Her owner decided they didn't want to keep her.

She is a lovely girls, very friendly, but she does test bite. She is currently in with two other rats that are not for re-homing, so she should be easy to introduce to other rats.

Rodent Rescue have lots of male mice looking for homes, 66 to be precise. They are very cute but quite skitish. Most have been in rescue since September 2008. They were bought into rescue after someone was sold them as same sex, unfortunately there were males and females.

If you are interested please contact Emma.

  6. Excellent  ..........gives me hope I'll be able to curb Daisy's murderous tendencies

Hope the eggs arrive soon Cheryl, I should be getting a black Orp with the hens I'm getting, and a blue one, god knows what that will look like.

My friend keeps Gordon Setters and went to see another friend who had puppies. The puppies were gently biting the chicken's rear ends, but the daft chicken kept coming back for more. It ended up the chicken dragging the puppies around the yard

  7. I've been hacking at things and tidying up in the garden. Found a dead blackbird in a sheltered spot under a tree. Now need to start cleaning the house.

 Know that feeling, always something else to do. I have spent all day today either cleaning the pets out or cleaning the house, boy I know how to live

  8. Lea how come your chooks dont flutter over the fences? Ours were always in next doors and our fences were higher than that. x

Arrrr well their wings have been clipped, but I need to keep an eye on Tilly because she moulted over winter and she can flap quite high. Problem is I didn't clip their wings so will have to learn. Having said that they really don't seemed bothered about escaping they are quite happy in the garden. They are shut in the run whilst we are at work though, so only allowed out when we are about to keep an eye on them
