  1. I was just about to say "someone change the title of this thread... there is no way she is a foster!!"

She is an adorable little girl and I can't wait to see her on new years day. Great to see piccies of her and Caleb playing together. I think its just what Caleb needs - a good old playmate. Rudy probably appreciates it too, so he can be left alone to sleep!

  2. Not been on Refuge for a while, so just checking back through posts and came across Guins post. Glad to read she is back to her normal terrorising self. Give her a big hug and snogs from me

  3. And then some  I'm not kidding myself about him though, but a 150% improvement in a week can't be ignored. he's just so much better now.

I had a good long chat with the vet today as we are due to go to Italy on Saturday. We were ready to cancel, but with the info we have today we have decided to go. The vet said he will be ok and he is happy with the kennels we go to. I know it's not ideal for him to go to kennels but we have used these for the last 26years and know them well. Spike & Cherry will be well cared for and he will be given his medication. Unfortunately any friends who may have assisted are not going to be at home themselves. The alternative to not going now is that we will have to go sometime in the next three months to sort out our affairs, so going now is the better option, while Spike is doing well. I am sorry if this offends anyone, but we have our reasons for doing it this way. :flowers:

You don't have to justify yourself to anyone :flowers: Spike is doing well and thats fantastic! Sending him and Cherry big hugs  :GroupHug:

  4. Thank you, he walked a few steps and he seems to be in no pain. I hope it will disappear as fast as it came but if not then I will raise hell to get him to a specialist.

Thats good. Even after rest I couldn't put any weight on my leg. I would just collapse on the floor. I hope it soon clears up for him. :)

  5. Lee spends most of his sleeping life upside down. So does archie  They are all daft, not just lee although he is probably the speshull one of the pack.

I have a real soft spot for Lee. I remember him at White Lodge and thought he was a speshull boy then!

  6. I really don't see what everyone is going on about where Rachel is concerned. I think she's awful.

Diana hands need chopping off. She needs shoes on her feet and I wish she would stop doing that thing at the end of each sentence cos it's getting on my nerves. If she packed that in I think she has a good voice. It's not got to me before. It's now sounding same old.

I thought Eoghan should have gone tonight. He doesn't stand a chance. I deffo think Mali should be there instead.

Shame on Daniel for using the sympathy vote to get through. I'm fed up of hearing about his story. If he hasn't got a good voice he shouldn't be there. It's not life or death. I can't sing so I do something else. It's not the be all and end all for crikeys sake. It really gets on my nerves when they say something like so and so used to work in a restaurant as though that's awful. Loads of people work in Pizza Hut and they're no better than them because they can or can't flaming sing.

I'm glad its not just me that thinks that about Diana - people at work rave about her and I think shes awful. Everything about her gets on my nerves!

Eoghan - what can I say? I just want to give him a good hair cut. I cringe everytime I see him because he looks so young, but trying to act old and it doesn't work. I don't like his voice and he just irritates me.

I think Laura should win this competition hands down. Her voice is spectacular and she seems really nice and down to earth. Her performance last night was brilliant!

Each to their own though

  7. Hi. I was diagnosed with IHS when I was 11. I had complete rest for about 4 weeks and it still didn't go away.

Long story short, after finally being referred to a specialist, I was eventually diagnosed with a slipped epiphysis. I had to have an operation to pin my femur back in place.

I'm not saying this is what your son has, but if the pain doesn't go away with total rest, keep nagging at your doctor for a referral to a specialist. :GroupHug:

  8. I was talking to one of my friends to day Bren and she mentioned that her dogs were donating blood and there was a film crew following 2 greyhounds (her words). I screamed down the phone at her that I knew who it was - it was you!! She was most put out that her gorgeous Dane wasn't required. Her Dane is beautiful, but not a patch on a greyhound and a lurcher like your two!

  9. Does anyone happen to know more about Sean Ellis the wolf guy ? I've googled him but not really found much, I seem to remember something about him doing a lot for wolf conservation but I was just wondering what his reason is for living with the wolves he has.

I watched a programme about him on Sky a few months ago and it showed him with his pack right from when they were youngsters up until the dynamics of the pack started to change, when the wolves got older and started to jostle for alpha male position. It was fascinating. I think it was called Wolfman, or something like that

  10. Hes gorgeous - you're very lucky

My only experience of Bassets is the gorgeous girl (Snoop) who comes to our agility club! Yes, theres not many people who believe a Basset can do agility, but she loves it. She often makes up her own course (which will involve tunnels and contacts, even if they're not part of the course!) and can a stubborn little madam when she wants to be. She is a real character and we all love her to bits.

  11. Such sad and shocking news and so suddenly too. So very sorry, but as others have said, make every moment with him count.

Sending positive, happy painfree thoughts for him and hope he continues to bounce around, oblivious to it all. :GroupHug:
