  1. I'd missed Josie walking until last nights show but tend to wonder whether she's let both herself and those who voted for her to win down now. On the other hand I find it quite sad that she seems to think so little of herself even after winmning the show - some of those people may be "celebrities" but some very minor ones and / or who just like her only became known through Big Brother & I reckon she's a far better person than many of them :(

The thing is, she hasn't experienced any of the hype yet because she only left the house briefly. If I won against Dave I don't think it would fill me with that much confidence either! She's probably thinking she was the best of a bad bunch. Now that she's out she'll realise the scale of her popularity, but she doesn't really strike me as somebody that would be particularly comfortable with the celebrity label anyway. Of course, I don't know her personally so I could be completely wrong!

Given what is classed as 'celebrity' these days, I hope she goes on to make pots of money out of it because unlike some others, she is someone who thoroughly deserves it. I can see the magazine deals, reality show, perfume, etc coming out of this and don't begrudge her any of it. If Jade Goody can do it, then she can too.

I've got a bet on with my friend that she'll sign up with some agent that will make her lose tons of weight just in time to release a fitness dvd in January.

  2. Kizzi is expecting a special visit this Sunday from a miniature schnauzer and a cocker spaniel (and some people too!) to see how they all get on. If introductions go well she will be going off to her new home. mecry.gifbiggrin.gif

I'm sure she will settle quickly as she has built up a very strong bond with me in the short time that she has been here, so much so that I can't even go to the loo without her whinging outside the bathroom door! She also likes to sit in the bathroom whilst I am in the bath and makes a bed out of my towels and has even tried to climb in with me on a few occasions! wacko.gif She is a strange dog! laugh.gif

I'm sure she will be very happy, but she will be missed here.

  3. I hate Nadia.

Its a bloke in a dress with a grudge against anyone that looks feminine or is happy

I think that's pretty harsh. Fair enough to criticise her for being a bit of a bitch, but not for her sexual orientation. She has had gender reassignment and is considered a woman both medically and lawfully- not a bloke in a dress.

  4. Well I was proved wrong about Brian Bello! rolleyes.gif I thought he'd go in because Brian Dowling went in as Brian D, and I didn't think they would need to differentiate with initials unless there were two housemates with the same name.

I don't know how Ulrika won Celebrity Big Brother either, but thinking back, there weren't many contenders that year.

It does seem like the producers have gone out of their way to stitch Chantelle up though. First putting Preston in (who I thought handled the situation really well) and then sticking Nicki in too. Seems a bit unfair to single her out.

Makosi and Nicki are both incredibly annoying, but at least they will keep it interesting. Nasty Nick really isn't that nasty when you compare his antics to those of more recent housemates. He was the pioneer though so I suppose he deserves some recognition for that!

I was a bit disappointed with some of them and would have liked to see Pete, Anthony, Craig etc go in, but they probably didn't want to do it. I'm still hoping that they put some more in at a later date. It would be brilliant if they put Sam back in, he would definitely shake things up with the big egos that are in there at the moment!

  5. In addition to Empire magazine, I also subscribe to Total Film and read a review today for something called 'A Serbian Film'- and according to the critics, it makes 'The Human Centipede' look like a Disney film!

Having read about the content in some of the scenes, I personally think it should have been banned. Obviously I haven't seen it, and although I'm generally not a big fan of censorship, you have to draw the line somewhere- and I think this film (as the reviews would lead me to believe) has set a new bench mark for depravity.

I don't want to go into too much detail, as although this is in the controversial section, I think it would still offend most normal people. But a few of the themes include; necrophilia, sodomy, torture and child rape- which is obviously what people would find the most upsetting and the reason I personally don't think it should have been passed for certification.

The director has tried to defend the film by saying that it is a metaphor for the Serbian governments molestation of it's citizens.huh.gif Even the most obscure critics have laughed at his pathetic attempt to validate what is essentially a sick, sick film that no normal person would ever have thought up.

I seem to be the only person that keeps dragging this thread back up. rolleyes.gif Sorry, I am just a film geek!

  6. One of my best friends little sister is on it this year, so keep an eye out for her. Her name is Lucy Rose. Unfortunately they have tried to make a big deal out of the fact that she was born with a cleft lip for the sob story angle that now seems obligatory for these type of shows. The Sun even ran a (very small) article on it describing her as 'brave Lucy who was born with a facial deformity'! She wasn't very impressed! rolleyes.gif

  7. Kizzi would look very sweet in a bandana. She went to the groomers yesterday and they went a bit mad (she looks like a skinhead!) so she could do with the extra warmth round her neck! laugh.gif

She is a cocker spaniel, so small/medium sized. Kizzi and Tess are the same size, just a different shape (Tess is fat), and they are both similar in size to a staffordshire bull terrier, springer spaniel, bassett hound etc. But maybe a medium/large size would be a good universal size, as people can just tighten it for smaller dogs. Not sure if that helps!

  8. If I were Josie, last nights escapades would have seriously put me off John James. Nobody wants a spineless wimp for a boyfriend. Not to mention somebody that thinks it is ok to speak to women in the way that he does. I just don't understand why he felt the need to be so nasty to Rachel, she didn't do anything to deserve it. I think there are definitely some under lying issues there! rolleyes.gif

It seems like things have only turned sour in the last week though, up until then they all seemed to be getting on well enough. I was quite indifferent towards all of them until last night, but I just didn't understand that tirade against Rachel, and the fact that some of them found it funny makes me think they are all just a bunch of mugs.

I have a few friends that are very similar to Sam, so I appreciate his sense of humor, but I know that most people wouldn't! Last night I thought he was an idiot when he was having a go at Corin though. I don't know where it all came from. I don't think she is fake (apart from her physical appearance of course!). I don't think there is much to her, but she seems genuine enough to me. I don't understand what 'game' she is meant to be playing? unsure.gif

Tonight I think John James will go first (don't think he would of if it hadn't of been for last night) and then I don't know who, probably Sam. The thing is, people usually have to feel passionately when it comes to voting people out, so characters like Andrew, Steve and JJ may escape eviction simply because they are boring.

  9. but you said

    surely that is collective?

Personally I don't think it's lame at all, rather a nice idea I think! :flowers:

    Thank you.

In my first reply I thought it was collective, hence why I suggested a group project. But then I re-read Amy's post and realised she was just looking for an individual present. I've been having a lot of blonde days recently. rolleyes.gif

  10. Not sure if this sounds a bit lame but what about a patch work quilt or blanket for the baby, with each of you making an individual patch that is personal to you and then sewing them all together?

You can buy patches ready made to just add your own personal touches to, so it's perfect for people (like me) who aren't very domesticated!

    Example: My link

Or, if you are quite good with a sewing machine you could use materials that have sentimental value to you, like a childhood dress or shirt (obviously depends on how close you are to this girl!).

You can also get photos printed onto patches, which is quite a nice personal touch.

They also have a really cute Teddy with a t-shirt that you can have a photo printed on to.

  11. I saw on the Oldies Club Facebok page last night that Kizzi is now reserved. Bless her. biggrin.gif

I have booked her an appointment at the groomers for Thursday, so I think she is keeping her paws crossed that her new owners rescue her from her evil foster mum asap before I inflict her to any more cruel treatments!

She is a very lucky girl to have been snapped up so quickly. Hopefully she will go somewhere that will really spoil her, she definitely deserves it after everything she has been through.
