  1. I am anaemic after my caesarean. My count was 14 before the C section and is now 9.9! I found iron tablets made me really constipated ( which believe me you don't want after abdominal surgery, ouch!) so on the advice of the midwife I am now taking something called spatone which I got in Boots. It's a liquid that you take once or twice a day. If you are prescribed iron tablets 3 times a day then you can take it 3 times a day too.It literally tastes of rust but you can barely taste it in orange juice. Orange juice ( vitamin C) also helps with iron absorption, drinking too much tea will decrease it. The Spatone does the same job as iron tablets but without nasty side effects!

  2. Positive thoughts for baby Ewan!

Still here, 8 days overdue! Wayne is coming up for the weekend but has to go back to London on Sunday. Fingers crossed something happens over the weekend! induction booked for next Thurs (14th) which is my sister's birthday!

  3. Alexis - my sister, who has had 4 children, swears that doing a spot of window cleaning starts the baby off. My sis-in-law on the other hand said I definitely helped her start her labour both times by pushing her vigorously on a swing :laughingsmiley:

Hope your wait is not too long now :flowers:

Actually I was planning on cleaning the bedroom windows today!

Sorry to hear about your friend Laura

Snow - some of your family sound like some of mine! I'm not surprised you're angry!

  4. Once that car moves I'll know things are moving for you too!

Hot sex might be a tad difficult for Lex, her husband's car is outside my house!

    Don't worry, he lives opposite!

Had curry on Saturday but I guess it's worth another try! Sex is out of the question as there's almost 250 miles between us at the mo! Scared to get in the bath incase I get stuck and can't get out!!!

Guess the little one will come when they are ready or forced out by induction!

  5. Alexis I was thinking the 10th for your baby, that would go much better with your other May birthdays

Yes it would! I'm booked to be induced on the 10th in baby isn't here by then!

  6. Yikes

I've got some strong painkillers/anti-inflammatories from Boots so will try them for a few days and see how I go. Can't easily take time off work though so having to put up with it :(

Carry on with the painkillers and try and take the pressure off it with some cushions or inflatable ring. Nothing else you can do even if it is broken and that's all a GP will tell you to do altho if the painkillers you have aren't doing anything the GP can give you something stronger. Xrays are pointless as they won't change the treatment of rest and painkillers. It can take a long while to heal tho. Hope the painkillers work for you!

Now 5 days overdue and baby is way too comfortable in there!

  7. Good morning! I took the opportunity for a lie in! Baby shows no signs of moving yet so another May birthday! OH's birthday is the 12th, Sisters is the 14th and niece's is the 16th!!

going to try and get some washing dry again in the sun but most likely it'll rain later! Enjoy your day everyone!Seeing the midwife this afternoon and hoping baby makes an appearance this weekend while Wayne's here, otherwise he'll be doing a mad rush up the M6 when I go into labour!

  8. You're braver than me!I'd like to keep some chickens one day but I'm not sure I could kill one although I guess that does make me a bit of a hypocrite as I do eat meat! I was veggie for 6 years a while ago tho! OH is not at all sentimental and I'm sure would have no problems killing anything to eat it!

  9. Very nice pictures! Emily, Wally and Catherine are all beautiful and the photos will look great in nice frames put up somewhere where everyone can see them! I'm not sure I'd be so confident with chickens!

    The feather idea is lovely!

  10. Would love to help! I had a similar experience at around aged 7 when told by the same by a group of boys. Followed by years of bullying at school it's left me with not great self esteem either! So best to try and tackle it early! Mind you at the airport in Jan the woman at the check in desk looked at my passport photo ( which isn't bad for a passport one) and said to OH - ' she looks prettier in the flesh doesn't she?! ' , err thanks for that!

  11. I'm glad it's sunny today but I don't think it'll last! I should be cleaning but am sitting here with a cup of tea and some biscuits. Baby is due tomorrow but is most likely going to be late, we'll see! I do have a washing line full of baby clothes and washable nappies at the moment tho which looks cute!

Must get on and do some ironing and finish cleaning the fridge!

  12. For the last 2 days my webmail account isn't working. It keeps telling me my username or password is incorrect which it definitely isn't! I can't find a way of contacting the provider.

Can anyone recommend a good webmail provider that I can change to?

  13. :partytime: Glad she's home! Good luck with the keeping her quiet over the next few weeks! When Charlie (staffie) had her knee op she was walking fine straight away and we didn't even use a buster collar and she left her stitches and the dressing alone. We weren't on crate rest but it was no walks for 3-4 weeks and no stairs/jumping on sofa etc for 3 months! It wasn't easy so you have my sympathy and lots of good luck wishes!
