  1. I regularly walk my 17 - so I'm stuffed.

I pick up religiously in places where people go, but not on farmland where we are competing with cows and horses. :)

:( That is terrible. The cows and horses have completely vegetarian diets and the farmer owns/rents the land. Dogs mostly have meat based poo which is feckin awful where animals are grazing and especially awful stuck in horses hooves.

  2. One thing I would ask about though - does that mean it's not safe to use the slow cooker I've just bought? If I go out, I mean. I can't see myself ever leaving it on while Bonnie's alone in the house, but it rather defeats the purpose if I have to stand guard over it all day (or night). Or are they safe because they are so low-voltage?

    They aren't low voltage

  3. Unfortunately they don't have an opthalmologist at Liverpool Uni, so if it is something like that then he will probably need to go back to my own vet and then may need to be referred on somewhere else.

I thought Guy Clare was the opthalmologist there? Unless he has left. Good luck :GroupHug:

  4. All the best advice is to BUY NOTHING until joined and chatted with your local astronomy club.

A good pair of binoculars can view just as much as most of the rubbish telescopes.

We paid over 200 quid for one child a few years ago, and they STILL were no good.

  5. Black mould is entirely due to condensation.

Decrease your airborne water as much as poss.

    1. Lids on pans

    2. kitchen door shut whilst cooking

    3. don't dry clothes insidehouse on radiators or hung up AT ALL

    4. extractor fan in bathroom

.............and don't use calor gas appliances, every kilo of gas used puts out one kilo of water (that is one litre)

  6. BC, I've spoken to a mate who is an accountant and he is going to go my tax returns for me. You are right I need to pay tax on anything over £4250. I'll do it all legally and properly, don't worry :flowers:

just didn't want the tax man to take all your extra bit and make it not worth it. :flowers: oh another thing, lodgers usually have no rights whatsoever so try and word the agreements in a way that protects you but doesn't give them extra rights.

  7. There were more than 2 people's accounts though, there were first hand accounts off people who had bought dogs from MR.

It was their accounts that were probably the most upsetting to read.

  8. and time for me to point out clearly that no one has said "forgive and forget" no one has said the dogs that died "don't matter" and no one has said that what went on before was acceptable, what has been said most clearly is that it does not help save dogs lives to close down rescues that are making efforts to ensure past mistakes are not repeated.

Im very sad that people are accusing us of thinking everything is ok and the past doesnt matter. No where have i said the kennels are great and they dont smell so everything is bloody marvellous and sick and dead dogs are not important but that is how im being portrayed elsewhere.

what happened in the past matters very much, but now is the time to make sure those mistakes are not repeated and work towards making milll somewhere for dogs to get a second chance from the pound and stray environment.

I was going to keep out of this but have to say thankyou to both of you for confirming (in a roundabout way) that dogs died, and that conditions were unacceptable. I believed Catherine and Lisa's account of how it was and was uncomfortable thinking that they were being thought of as not telling the truth.
