My two cat safe boys, Tarka & Merlin, who have been here since November, have just been offered a home. Together. I am chuffeder than a chuffed thing from Chuffedsville.

I didn't call ALL Welsh xenophobic, I am just objecting to xenophobic experiences in my past and the xenophobic posts that are appearing here tonight, such as: If those T shirts said "I support white people and anyone playing black people" they would never have been made or sold. I just wanted to express my belief that racism is not exclusive to skin colour and I feel it's shameful that some people still find it acceptable.

No, I just get peed off with Welsh people living in England telling me how awful the English are. If they were telling me I was awful because I was black, everyone would be up in arms. So why is all this English bashing acceptable? Personally I've never done anything bad to anyone Welsh, nor has anyone in amy family, to the best of my knowledge. But I get lumped together like a racist would lump together 'Pakis' and Niggers'. Why is that ok? Seriously? Can anyone tell me why that is any more reasonable that racism based on skin colour? Jeeze, I'm not even patriotic but this whole xenophobia thing, especially from intelligent, otherwise non-racist people, really gets my goat.

We tried to buy a house in Wales in the mid 80s. That is a house to live in (not a holiday home) and to run a business from (and possibly employ someone, too). The reception we had was horrendous. We had the cliche Welsh-people-speaking-English-and-changing-to-Welsh-when-they-realised-we-were-English in the corner shop. We drove over 200 miles to view a house in Ebbw Vale only to have the door slammed in our face because the estate agent had not told the vendor we were from England. We had a pub refuse to serve us and a restaurant pretend to not understand us. And these were not isolated cases, we viewed over 20 properties and travelled thousands of miles. So we didn't put our money into the Welsh economy because of the sheer xenophobia we were faced with. 60 years after a World War we are, as a country, able to trade and live in harmony in the same Union as Germany. The English people who oppressed the Welsh are long dead, if Wales wants to improve their economy then their people need to get over ancient history and move on.

Then why do you choose to live in England? I've never ever got this. Having worked on the (BR) Great Western line for 11 years I met many Welsh people who felt the same but not one could give me a good reason why they choose to live in the country they are so anti

Mad mad mad morning. Rehomed Danny (fingers crossed this is the one this time) and 20 mins later I had a call from a girl who had a greyhound dumped on her ('rescued' by a mate from a trainer and the mate assumed she'd have it as she already has 2 greys ). Much to Garys delight I said bring him down here, and when he turned up he was a Danny-look-alikey. Strange world. Going to bed for a bit now, back later
