  1. Morning :wavey:

Glad Kinky is ok after her dental :)

It's very cold & frosty here but I think the temperature has risen a tad from last night as it keeps trying to rain a bit.

I'm off for a swim shortly, hoping the pool will be as quiet as it was last Saturday :) I normally go for a swim about 3 times a week, but haven't been able to go as much lately with having the builders in. I don't like leaving the dogs when there's noise going on, it upsets them. I shall be so glad when the extension is finished, it's getting me down now. It should be finished in about another 2 weeks :)

  2. I have a job!! The elf service chose 8 jobs for me and I picked the one I preferred, was interviewed and got it!! Same salary as I am on now but purely Admin. The best bit is the department may move back to HQ in town so I should be able to walk to work. It only comes in effect from April 1st so until then I have to continue in the job I;m in which is much more interesting than Admin! If no one has my job by January I will be able to apply for it!!! You couldn't make it up!!

    Big hugs :) xx

Congratulations & well done :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

  3. Morning :wavey:

I've had my first lie-in since the builders started, I'm still in bed, lazy old mare that I am :happystrange:

The dogs have been out for wees & poos & they've had their breakfast, I've had coffee

It's quite a pleasant morning here, the rain has finally stopped and it's cold & windy, but not bad for late November.

Hope everyone has a good Sunday.

  4. Evening :wavey:

It's been cold but luffly here today. I walked the dogs, then took some stuff back to Next, then went to Mozzas, came home and had lunch then we all had a nap with the gas fire on  Unfortunately the gas bottle ran out but we carried on kipping  W

Is that your new Provence gas fire that the bottle has run out on? Surely you've not had it a month yet? Or have you been using it a lot?

I changed my gas bottle on 26 October and I think its got a few more days in it yet.

  5. Morning :wavey: Lovely frosty morning here, hopefully, the fields will have dried out a bit and I can take the dogs for a really good walk later. We've had to stick to village walks for the last few days because the fields were too muddy.

RMF : I have just done the dogs' n cats' christmas shopping. The cats have snuggly new beds and the dogs have toys and treats.

That reminds me, I was in Home Bargains yesterday and they had some nice dog beds in a Zebra pattern. On looking closely at the label, it said "For pet use only." I'm still wondering what other use they could be put to

  6. Someone tell me to get my arse off the sofa and get in the shower. I'm still in my dressing gown  and I need to take the mutts out before I go to the flicks.

I was in the shower at 6:30 this morning  I'm not normally that early, but it was Church at 8am and I had all my Avon deliveries to do today.

We had a really good frost overnight but we've had a beautiful clear blue sunny, frosty day. I love days like that :)

  7. Morning :wavey:

I, too am a Home Bargains fan. I'm planning to go there today because I have a builder-free day today. The brickies can't do any more until the roof is on & the roofer is coming on Monday.

I hope Kinky cat stays put this time & realises she's better off at home than with the neighbours.

Shame about the little doggy whose scent disappeared, if access to that area is so restricted, surely someone must know who picked him up?

    Gooster - nice wheels :)

Better get up, Betsy is protesting about the lack of breakfast

  8. I have neglected you all - been soooo busy cos it's my knee op tomorrow and I have had so much to get ready.

I'm in at 7.30 am so will probably neglect you further till I get back home.

Not had a chance to read back so I hope you're all well and hugs if you're not xxx

Lots of good wishes for your op. I hope all goes well & you're right as rain very soon :GroupHug:

  9. It always makes me cry when I watch them all at the Cenotaph :(

    Me too

I normally go to Market Bosworth (my nearest small town) to watch the wreath laying at the cenotaph there and take part in the act of remembrance. However, due to my arthritic legs, i can't stand up for that length of time any more. I'm watching it on the television and bawling like a baby :(

  10. Just to update this - I had to leave the dogs for 4 hours yesterday, the longest I've ever left them. I was organising a Coffee Morning in Church, so it was unavoidable.

When I got back, they had both been very good girls (well, Pansy is always good), no mess, no destruction. I'm more than ever convinced that it was the Wagg Worker that made Betsy wappy.

I still won't be leaving them for that long regularly, but it's nice to know that I can leave them for the odd hour or so now :)

  11. Morning :wavey:

It's a beautiful sunny bright morning here, very frosty, but a clear blue sky :)

I discovered yesterday afternoon that one of the local farmers has replaced all the stiles with gates, thus making it much easier for people like me with arthritic legs to take their dogs for a lovely long walk. Thank you Mr Farmer Man :thumbsup_anim:

I'm having a day off today after the hecticness (is that a word?) of the last week or so. All I'm doing today is walking the dogs & drinking lots of coffee :)

    Have a great Sunday everyone

  12. Morning :wavey:

Day 2 of having the builders in. Did I tell you I'm having an extension built? I got them to cover the trenches with boards last night so the dogs could go out safely. No need for boards with Betsy, she ran round & round at 200mph after the builders had left, jumping gaps and different levels. The builders had made a ramp for the dogs, but Betsy didn't need it, she seems to have springs in her legs  . Pansy is a different matter though, she's traumatised & refuses to wee or poo out there. I've had to put her lead on & take her out the front :(

Anyway, :GroupHug: to all who need them, I'm off to brew up for the builders now.

  13. I'm convinced it was the food, Betsy has improved no end since putting her on normal Wagg. Ok, I did start giving her a stuffed King to occupy her if I went out, but the last couple of times I've left her, she hasn't had a Kong & she's still been good.

I've got builders in at the moment & even that isn't sending her wappy, she's just a normal happy doggy now :)

  14. Moaning :tired:

Thanks. I will probably have it on for a few hours every day

RMF : Tossed and turned half the night (again) :( I am so worried that they won't like me at work and I won't pass my probation that it's making me miserable.

yes, I have my fire on for a couple of hours around lunchtime, then again in the evening, longer if its really cold.

Of course they'll like you, what's not to like? :GroupHug:

  15. I know there are alot of people worse off than me and I am being very self absorbed but I am feeling really fed up and pathetic and dont know what to do to get myself out of it

Are you getting enough daylight? At this time of year, lots of people leave the house before its properly light, and come home again in the dark. For people who suffer from SAD, that is enough to bring on depression. Try getting a bit more daylight, alternatively, taking St Johns Wort helps a lot of people.

  16. I had it on for a few hours and it wasn't too bad on the top bit but of course I'll be careful :)

I do really like it, but it's a shame you can't see the flames on the low setting. Looks lovely on high though. How long does a 15kg gas bottle last you? With my last one it lasted about a month cos I only ever had it on low because of the heat it gave off.

The 15k gas refill lasts me about a month in the really bad weather. Longer in milder spells.

  17. Nice and sunny here too, for now :cool02:

I bought one of the Provence heaters after cinders put my mind at rest and managed to get it into the house, out of the box and put together with only minor damage to my toes (bare feet and a cast iron stove being pulled on casters towards you don't really mix) I'm burning off the smell of the coals at the moment so the door's wide open. Good job it's not raining. Need to have a look for a fire guard now to stop the mutts getting too close and burning themselves, especially Bumpy dog.

I hope you're as happy with it as I am :)

I forgot to tell you, there is one drawback with it - you need oven gloves to turn it off. I usually pull my jumper sleeves down over my hands to prevent getting burned.
