  1. Hes stunning Mist

He is a babe! He is much more handsome and chilled now, bless him - although he has his Lusitano moments! Have you still got your Luso boy?

    Faro and his Mini-Me

I do need some more photos of him and fully intended to take some today but the weather is just not conducive and a photo of a mud-coloured horse in a rug will not do his image any favours!

  2. Hello - I guess most of you on here will not remember me as I do not post on here very much so I thought an update was in order!

I have Faro - a rescue Iberian gelding who arrived in the UK in June this year. We have had a rollercoaster of a ride with regards his soundness, he had an acute attack of laminitis over a year ago and I have worked hard on re-establishing his feet with an equine podiatrist.

We are nearly back to soundness, he still has a subsolar abscess that I expect to rumble on for a while longer yet and he was very footy over hard ground today. It is going to be a long haul for my boy, but I do not, for one minute regret having him, he is an absolute darling.

  3. Oh yes please ReikiAnge - that is really kind, my poor boy needs all the energy and positive vibes going! He has been through hell and high water, and coming to the UK was essential for him to get the correct treatment in whatever form that takes!

  4. My poor boy is VERY footsore and is lame in trot thanks to the ***@@!**££$%** farrier in France before he left.

His off=fore (right) is VERY painful for him, so please keep on with the Reiki for him, poor lamb.

  5. Please can I have Reiki for my lovely new rescue horse Faro? Faro was rescued from a one way trip to Italy ( to the salami man).

He has severe problems with his feet and has had laminitis in both front feet, and has foundered in one.

He has been brought from overseas to have continued rehabilitation for his feet, he is currently on the ferry to the UK and should arrive here Tuesday June 17th. He has been through hell, having been starved and neglected, he is only 8 too and the kindest horse.

  6. Just thought I would drop me and introduce the absolute horse of my dreams.

The wonderful, the amazing, gentle, kind, unflappable chap that is..

    Faro!

AND he is a rescue horse!

He is a 16.1 Iberian (PSL x PRE) gelding (as of 6 weeks ago!)

I am so happy, and Cueva has a fantastic home and I have retained an interest in her, so everything has worked out rather well. It has been a long journey!

  7. Can you email me some pics, I've got a friend who is looking and to be honest if I'd not had Easta back then I'd have snapped your arm off.

Would you be ok with her coming to Derby?

Will email some piccies and Derby is absolutely fine! Not so very far away - I am just going to email woman who originally wanted her one last time and then we can take it from there....

Cuev would be PERFECT young rider's horse, absolutely perfect.

  8. I don't suppose there is a lovely Horsey Fugee who would like a very nice PRE mare is there?

Been very badly let down by loan person and am stressed beyond belief.

Cueva is 15hh inscriped and revised with BAPSH and ANCCE (i.e. she is fully registered and approved for breeding). She is a PRE (Pura Raza Espanola) and rising 7, broken to ride and bred one big colt foal.

Brave, kind mare and very, very Spanish, would do affiliated dressage (according to trainer) and likes to jump too.

    Am desprit!!

  9. Great to hear from you again!! Does this mean that now I am finally moving to UK I won't be able to have ride on the lovely Cueva? Now that is just not fair at all! :glare:

Sounds very myseterious about your new boy, looking forward to hearing the whole story (with piccies  )

Anne! I didn't know you were moving here, WOW! How fantastic we can all have a Refuge Horsey person's Geek Meet.

I will still own Cueva, she is being a broodmare and then I would like me/someone to ride her again, she has such beautiful paces.

Having terrible cold feet about new boy, he is recovering from laminitis and is still not sound, but he is so very, very perfect in every other respect. Such a difficult call....

  10. It has been a very very long while since I posted on here so I thought I had better update you on what has been happening.

Cueva is going out on loan to a wonderful (and batty!) lady in Wales to have babies and is due to be covered by a pure white, beautiful, handsome pure Guardiola stallion with a temperament to die for.

For some reason, Cueva and I have never quite clicked, although we have both tried, we are happy enough to potter around together, but I have no wish to ride her at all! (Please explain why I can get on a 16 hh Veiga-bred Pure Lusitano stallion and canter and do passage and all sorts of things, and whom I trust with my life yet cannot get on my own girl? As our American friends say 'Go figure')

Tuna is going to the same stallion, she is proving to be very brave, opinated and very, very beautiful horse.

Nott, my beloved girl is 20 this year and looking very fit and well, she is truly my soul mate.

Which brings me on to another 'Mist's secret'.

I truly have found the horse of my dreams, he is everything I dreamt of and everything I could ever wish for. He is also a rescue horse and his story is very, very sad. He was literally inches away from being bought by the Italian meat man for salami. (Literally as in stood next to!) I cannot reveal my boy yet as he is still undergoing veterinary treatment, he is not in the UK. Of course he is an Iberian stallion...

As soon as I can, I will!

It has been lovely to catch up on every one's news, aren't you all doing well?

  11. Tuna has arrived (8.30 tonight Bless her!).

She is an angel, she is bold, brave and beautiful and I am over the moon! She will be presented for her grading on Tuesday and hopefully approved for breeding. She is just absolutely gorgeous.

    She was bred here:

    Yeguada Aimaran

    Her daddy is Olimpico XVI.

I am completely besotted and utterly over the moon, I have achieved my dream of my own Spanish stud.

  12. Tuna is certainly a Baroque horse and a half - she has superb breeding, and daddy is a Calificado stallion (about as good as it gets). She is pure Carthusian breeding.

Dolly slipped her foal, so there is no hairy footed Spanish coblet baby which is very sad, she will be back at stud in the spring to try again.

  13. Mist has another Spanish Lady! Very, very lucky Mist.

She has been bought in partnership with my friend as we have combined forces and now have our own PRE stud (she has bred partbred Spanish for 20 years.)

She is called Tuna, she is three years old and is about to be graded to become a broodmare. She is my absolute dream of what a good Spanish broodmare should be. She will be here in two weeks.

    Tuna.jpg

  14. Tealigh update - she is worse, her respiratory symptoms have increased, her breathing rate is 42/minute and she is struggling.

Her owner Karen is letting her go to the bridge before the winter, hopefully Legado will be old enough to cope without his mum, my little elderly Icelandic is still on standby..

Thank you so much for all your Reiki, it has sustained her long enough to give her baby a good chance in life.
