  1. Free Jaffa Cakes biggrin.gif

I'm going to see Ben's old owner tomorrow, obviously I'll have to tell her about Ben's liver ( forgot to mention the vet said it looks as if he has a blocked bile duct, which could be a tumour or be a fibro-something or other) should I ask Judy if she would like to come to pick him up after his scan and hear the scan results ? I'm just thinking that if I was her and it was Spud this was happening to, I'd like to hear the result from the vet and have the opportunity to ask questions , Ben's very much my dog, but Judy does love him unsure.gif

I can highly recommend milk thistle for liver problems. It seems to be helping Jemima with her liver function with this horrible benign liver tumour and it certainly helped Sophie spaniel have longer than expected with her liver problems.I have done some other research into other natural stuff you can use for liver problems so if you want to know give me a shout :flowers: Good thoughts for Ben

Good luck Alex for your results :flowers:

  2. I watched it and thought it was good although I wailed my heart out when the old staffy boy was pts :mecry: I do understand why they showed it because people need to see the nitty gritty horribleness and reality of it all.

My issue with it really was that I suspect the main audience of the programme was people like us,the ones that care already.People like the owner of the staffy mum with pups just don't watch programmes like Panorama and the message is therefore so much harder to get across :(

I looked at those pups and wondered how many would end up in places like Battersea as dogs being pts for aggression in a few short years.T'is very sad this current trend for 'tough dogs'.But to get the message across to the types of people that own them is incredibly difficult.

I also wondered if that bloke declared his earnings from those pups to the benefits office  I suspect not! Big way to make extra money in my experience with both pups and kittens.

  3. Morning :)

The sun is kind of out a bit here..hurray!!

Tomorrow I can collect my hopefully mended dyson which will be marvellous as with 9 cats my house is beginning to resemble a wooly mammoth type thing

  4. I am off to my bed I think.

Following on from Henryno I'm thinking Dylan might as well be known as Dylanno which is preferable to what he usually called (Dildo) as I often forget and yell 'Dildo' down the garden at him  I'm sure the neighbours wonder about me at times

  5. I'm being enough of a hypocrite to urge everyone to go and watch it, while I cannot bring to watch it myself. Can't watch animals being slaughtered, and definitely not in this cruel way :mecry:

I agree,I think I would wail my way through it and cry for weeks afterwards.Seeing stuff makes me angry and makes me stay angry and take action but just seeing the trailer is enough in this case.

  6. Gulliver tested negative for FIV/FELV which was good.I think he's been sleeping under a car as he's got motor oil on his tail so I strongly suspect he's burnt himself on a hot exhaust pipe.It was like that for about 2 weeks before I caught him and got alot worse :( He's found his inner poof since he's been at the vets and I think Bert has been giving him lessons. He's been a visiting stray for about 4 or 5 months and at first wouldn't come near me and it's taken ages to be able to even touch him,now he's all 'love me stroke me' at the vets

FFS don't tell my Mother but I think he may well be coming back to be resident here when his treatment is over

  7. I've had the news I was dreading today, :( my friend with cancer isn't going to make it :mecry: I'm absolutely gutted, she has fought so hard for over a year. She doesn't want to know how long the doctors think she may have, but I have a feeling it's not long. :mecry:

I'm sorry Marge for both you and your friend :GroupHug: :flowers: Enjoy your time together, laugh, live and smile lots.

Alex I hope you feel better soon :flowers:

Right best go feed these pooseykatts.

Forgot to tell you,my ginger visiting stray who I might have named Gulliver is doing well at the vets following the horrible burn he got on his back. He's been there 3 weeks now, poor thing. It is healing slowly but will be a while longer with the vets with his buster collar and bandaged back paws  I miss him

ETA pic of Gull's burn :(

  8. Morning.

Took Jemima for her 6 weekly vet check up yesterday. Her tumour is huge now.For the first time her gums are now looking a bit yellow so the jaundice is beginning :mecry: She seems ok in herself so for time being she will just continue to be pampered and spolied rotten

  9. I hate waiting for phone calls,it means I can't go out or phone anyone for fear of missing said call.

My friend Ellie started her new job today and reports it is much nicer then the one she got the heave ho from where the boss spent all the time trying to touch her arse

  10. Glastonbury's been and gone, T in the Park is on this weekend and the line up is pretty poor in my opinion, which got me thinking what would be my perfect music festival, and just because in the world of me I can re-group and bring bands back from the dead, I have a pretty eclectic and down right groovy line up.

    The 2010 Festival of Spuddliness

    HEADLINER'S

THE KILLERS, THE FOO FIGHTERS, RHCP, QTSA, NIRVANA ( poor Dave's going to be run off his feet rolleyes.gif), THE DOORS, T REX, TALKING HEADS, QUEEN ( not a Queen fan but they'd be fab live) PETER GABRIEL, KATE BUSH, GLEN CAMPBELL, JOHN DENVER, JUDY GARLAND, TOM PETTY AND THE HEARTBREAKERS, MOBY

and in the COOL AS F**K TENT

JOHN LEE HOOKER, RAY CHARLES, TOM WAITES, RUFUS WAINRIGHT, jACKIE WILSON, SAM & DAVE, GRANDMASTER FLASH AND THE FURIOUS FIVE, FRANK ZAPPA AND THE MOTHERS OF INVENTION, CARMEL., ELVIS COSTELLO AND THE ATTRACTIONS. KING CRIMSON, GLADYS KNIGHT AND THE PIPS. PATTI SMITH, JOHN MARTYN

So, there you have it, my utterly indulgent, fantasy festival, so, whats your heavenly musical line up ?

Most of those would do me but I'd make Dave even busier by adding Them Crooked Vultures and Probot.I'd also add Motorhead somewhere and the Eagles of Death Metal.Plus I'd have the old INXS with Michael Hutchence

  11. My dyson is broked :( The hose has split.Have mended it with tape but it's lost it's suck

Have been chortling with my friend over something which has amused us,as they say little things please little minds

  12. Katsinc....your poor puss cat :mecry: i had a problem with 1 cat round here... the only thing i have managed to do is make our back garden private for dex cat so he has a place of safety...there is just one cat that seems to have adopted us and keeps hanging about  the dogs soon see it off though (shame as it hasn't harmed dex and it might be a friend of his)could you make your cat his own little place of safety??? we did it with prikka strips and brush screening

No I can't unfortunately as I have 9 cats  and 7 of them come and go into the woods behind the house as they consider that their domain. They have their normal tiffs with other cats but this cat is a psycho cat and even fronts me with attitude.Horrible thing.

My garage door cable snapped this afternoon causing the dor to drop and almost behead me   Am waiting for fixer man to fix it...another £85 gone.

Remind me I'm working tomorrow will you,I've already forgotten to go to one appointment this afternoon
