  1. We had a fun filled day added to by the heavy showers and mopping of the prizes, a joint effort by all the helpers and the wonderful companies that donated the prizes and especially Just 4 dogs who let us have the stall and games area at the show. Hopefully next year we'll get to do it all again.

Hope you had a good time with us Lynne, it was lovely to see you again.

  2. Just wanted to add that we had a long term knnel resident, story sounded similar to lady's, and he would get quite growly and a buit nasty whenever he was taken out of kennels and put into a home and was returned several times, the way we got around it is we provided a kennel for his new owners so he could sleep in there where he was happiest and still be in doors with them during the day and whenever they pottering around the garden.

Result all around, he was happy and settled very quickly to his new life and we saved a fortune on long term kennel fees.

  3. Really heartbreaking, I wonder if these rescues know of and use foster carers, when we have problem dogs through ESSW we always find it easier to rehome them once they have been in foster a home or should I say from a foster home, people tend to get a clearer and more trustworthy picture of a dog when seeing it in a home environment.

Stories like these always make me extremely sad.

  4. Go on Fee you know you want to

Can we have an update tomorrow please, I don't think butter would melt on that little dogs mouth so def dont think he'll be bad with cats, he's far to angelic.

I just wanted to take him home and let him snuggle on the sofa.

Was more than a pleasure to help with transporting him, always happy to help down South you know that

  5. The photos are deceiving, he's little, he is whippet size, maybe just a tiny bit bigger, I cannot tell you how close we were to saying he was staying, he gives the best cuddles and is so good on a lead, he would be no trouble to anyone.

If the foster carer changes her mind for any reason there will be a foster space here for him but I am sure it will be a matter of weeks before he's in his forevor home, I'm glad I've temepted a few people though

  6. I'm in love, such a sweet gentle boy, someone adopt him quick, even the Oh asked if the OC had any homes suitable

  7. It's ESSW's anniversary year as well this year, if there is an Oldies Club Representative that would like to join me with our Plymouth walk at Saltram on June 20th I'd be really happy to share the date.

Even if we shared a stall and did a shorter walk for the oldies and a slightly onger walk or the Springers?

Will you be listing a list of your walks on the website?

  8. Run Free Sham, be happy and healthy at the bridge until a rescuer come gets you for the last time.

Will Happy be placed in a foster home now he is by himself, pending one being available of course?

  9. I've just been nudged in this direction and wanted to say a huge massive thank you from all at ESSW (English Springer Spaniel Welfare) to everyone who has donated and helped out with this Christmas Hamper people, this year has been very busy for us, I think as with most rescues the credit crunch has hit people hard and that in turn is hitting us rescues.

Its not just financially that this will help us out, but emotionally to, just when you've had a bad day and organised foster for yet another needy dog just before Christmas and you're feeling quite down, something like this pops up and I cannot begin to tell you how it restores your faith again and makes you work harder, the emotional support isn't often mentioned but knowing there are so many kind people to help the rescues out especially at this time of year when everyone feels the extra pinch really does matter.

Caffery's Mum from all of our many foster dogs and from the people at ESSW to, thank you so much for organising this and as for Rosie, may your memory live on and help many other rescues to, thank you. :flowers:

  10. Jules, I dont get a chance to look around the forums very often these days, this was obviously the reason I did today.

I'm so sorry, I know you're hearts going to be breaking in two right now, Ollie is and was the world to you.

    Huge hugs for you

Run Free Ollie til you meet with your Mum again
