  1. My girl Jazz was diagnosed with Cushings about 4-5 years ago now and is still going strong. SHe was about 9 at diagnosis and was treated with Vetoryl (expensive but very effective). Her symptoms were kept well under control with it for 3 years or so until she started going Addisonian (opposite of Cushings).

She is now off her medication all together (which has amazed the vet) and ticking along nicely. I would say she is probably aging quicker than I would have expected her to but apart from that I am pleased to still have her here this many years after diagnosis

Hope your friends dog responds as well :GroupHug:

  2. :GroupHug: Hope Roxy is feeling better today.

Just as an aside quite often once you get Cushings regulated it can often bring out other problems that the dog may have had but the excess production of cortisol from the Cushings has been surpressing.

So you quite often just sort the Cushings out and then you are bombarded with another list of ailments! So please don't start questioning why she has suddenly got all these things with you :GroupHug:

Has she had her thyroid tested too?

  3. Ask Anne  :D

Anne rang me to tell me about her, she was born on a farm but they wanted to get rid of her cos she's deaf. Anne's future mother in law found out about her, and was worried about her fate because farmers aren't known for their compassion.

I took her on to get her training and socialisation started while I try to find her a permanent home.

aaaahhhh I see training and socialisation eh

She looks like she will certainly brighten up someones life anyway
