  1. Murphy doesn't seem to feel the cold he still wants to swim even when its impossible i had to keep him on lead near the water last weekend so he decided to roll over and over in a puddle that was iced over, at the moment the snow in the garden comes up to his knees and he won't come in

He is half Collie does that mean anything

  2. I cann't believe that it is 4 years since we got our Murphy it has gone so very fast

If it wasn't for Rochdale who found him on that cold cold doorstep when he was only about 10 weeks old  then Warrington and of course his wonderful Foster Mum  who had him over the Christmas of 2005 then we got him on 7th January 2006

So thanks to all who helped him after he was dumped so cruelly

He nom rules the roost here of course

To-night he will have a very special dinner to celebrate :partytime: :circle:

  3. Many thanks for your replies i will certainly pass this on to my friend for when the sad time comes that little Lulu needs a new loving home :mecry: .At the moment she is fine but my friend can see the differance in her Aunts behavior almost every week Thanks again for the help

  4. This may be a bit long winded but please bear with me

My friends Auntie has dementia and at the moment is not too bad she has my friend to help when she can and has carers through the day

The problem will be ,in the future her little Yorkie Lulu, she is tiny, my friend has got to think of the time to come when her Auntie can not look after her !! as she has Paddy the Goldie now he is really good with other dogs Lulu included but the big but is Lulu who goes for him all the time i don't think she is used to other dogs as she doesn't go out much ,she does have the garden , i think some friends take her out occasionally but she isn't used to meeting other dogs

What i was wondering is there anybody who could rehome her ,when the time comes ,to another elderly person who maybe wants adog ,but not a puppy , we are not sure how old she is but have worked out she is most likely about 5 or 6 as she belonged to some else befor and my friends Auntie has had her for about 4 years .She is cute and very very tiny

This at the moment is just trying to make it a bit easier when the time comes for Auntie to need more care and Lulu not being able to go with her

It is a sad thing to think but Auntie is deteriating as the months go on and my friend has to worry about her and little Lulu Can anyone advise me what to tell her

    Thanks Kay

  5. Lovely pics

I agree that dogs can see in colour Murphy has 4 small squishy balls and he knows one from the other if you try to swap them to fool him he knows and wont have it

Also the first time i swopped his beige coloured blanket on his bed to a black one he just stopped dead and barked at it

  6. I honestly cann't put it into words the feeling at seeing the animals in the wild like that, its the 2nd time we have been to Kenya but this time was the best .When you see a Cheetah kill an Antelope right in front of you the speed the grace it was so emotional and i thought i would be squeemish over a kill but it was so quick and silent and she most likely had young that needed to eat that you just thought what a beautiful animal she was and had to survive!!! Also the Leapard had a small kill but we saw that after it had killed

It was the Elephants for me there were so many young and one group had a tiny tiny one and the Rangers were by to make sure that they didn't attack as it was only a few hours old and the herd were protecting it

What a great holiday it is something that will be with me forever

We saw almost every thing apart from Rhino

  7. We got back from Kenya last Tuesday morning and i thought if anyone likes Elephants here is a photo of some with Mount Kilamanjaro in the background

What a beautiful animal and the Elephants were wonderful in fact we saw so very much i didn't want to come home except to get Murphy back
