  1. Ooooh Claz I didn't know you got a job for energywatch. We'll have to have a saddo's work type natter at some point

What period does the final bill for the electricity cover - is it for more than one year?

Also, what is the debt collection company. Many suppliers first level of debt collection may be from a different company but they are an in house operation.

  2. Those who know me know I strongly dislike children. I would fall into the catagory of child hater however I don't use the word hate because that is reserver only for a select few people/things etc

However in this situation I cannot say now without question what I would do. Every fibre of me now screams 'You would save the puppy' but would I? To be honest I seriously doubt I would save the puppy first but I just don't know.

  3. Good idea for it's use!

With regard to the type of memory stick - that may depend on the frame. It should say with the instructions though... or even on the back of the frame

I expect for 30 decent size photos you would not need bigger than 256Mb (512 would be better to have a nice margin though) - not even sure you can buy them that small now but maybe a fugee somewhere will have one knocking around

I'll let someone who has donwloaded music legally come along and answer you last question

  4. oops realised afterwards that tis libel when written/typed.

I know it can be done on individual computors, (I watch Forensic Detectives) what I meant was would it be possible for a forum owner to totally get rid of stuff?

ie closing down the site. If the site went, would all the info on said site vanish forever too?

If the site were shut down, and more importantly the databases removed, then yes - all the content is gone.

Gone forever? Well forever is subjective to how much money you have and how much pressure you can put on the hosting company. Chances are they will have backups but you are pretty unlikely to get your hands on it for libel.

  5. By popular demand, here are some Tippyshots from the last few months.

I have taken one or two more (Really?!), maybe I'll resize them in a bit.

  6. Isn't there anyone about with a garden that is more appealing for slugs than you?

THen gather them into a previously mentioned plastic tub, put on your best ninja outfit, and rehome the slugs to more appealing terrain...

Just a thought. More for comedy value of ninja slug rehoming.

  7. I couldn't do without my O'tom tick remover

    tomtick.jpg

You just get the tick between the forks twist and pull and the whole lot comes away clean. You get a small and a large hook in each packet. They are sold online and at vets :flowers:

    Marion

    This

We bought one the first time we were up in Marion's neck of the woods (Probably from the same vet!) and it works brilliantly. Tippy even had one remove from somewhere rather sensitive and it came out fine!

  8. Having read through the statement on the website nothing is clear apart from the fact that both parties handled the situation incredibly badly.

I don't feel I can comment on the response from the kennel owner without first seeing the content of the letter that was sent recorded delivery to her. Or indeed any details of the communications between rescue and kennels that lead to a recorded delivery letter being sent. For a situation to get this far there has to have been some communication.

However by arranging to collect the dog, despite no written agreement, that implies ownership. As soon as that agreement was made the GSD rescue didn't have a leg to stand on and the law did exactly what it was supposed to do. GSD rescue should have obtained good legal advice before arranging to collect the dog and definitly before writing a cheque out and stopping it.

I am not defending the kennel owners actions, indeed the fact they billed GSD rescue for a dog that did not belong to GSD rescue was very wrong. However everything else that they did they were well within their rights to do the moment GSR rescue took responsibility for the dog.

  9. Tippy loves the beach, and he doesn't get to see it often. This day it was fairly empty.

    070629_IMG_91161.jpg

Paddling, and generally deciding what to do next. I detect potential lunacy.

    070628_IMG_85761.jpg

    He goes for it.

    070629_IMG_91441.jpg

    And loves every second!

    See the grin....?

    070629_IMG_91491.jpg

    Tippy definitly loves the beach!

ANd here ends our murky, windy day(s) at the beach

  10. I've got a couple of views on this. If public money is to be spent on art then all well and good. But the art should be reasonably prices not some 10+ thousand pount bit of junk (as has happneed often). If the people deciding what to buy are sensible than much good art can be purchased within a reasonable budget.

Now, what does pee me off is when you hear people saying 'I don't believe somebody (a private individual) spent x hundreds of thousands/millions on that piece of art. Imagine what that money could have done for poverty/nhs/schoold etc. "

I stongly believe that what somone spends thier own money on is their business (within legal bounds) and i do get quite annoyed when I hear people saying stuff like that.

  11. I wouldnt want my children to see that. Wether in a commercial or a real accident.

I dont think we need to see the consequences on an advert like that, we know the possible consequences.

Everyone knows that speeding is illegal and dangerous yet it continues.

The thing is, we all know the possible concequences of speeding and accidents. But it is so easy to put it out of your mind unless you see it first hand - or it is either shown on TV often enough to get the message to stick in your mind - or it is hard hitting.

I speak as someone who used to drive way too fast. All the time. For me it was a real life fatal accident (not me, but it could easily have been me or anyone else who drives dangerously fast) that hammered it home how dangerous speed can be. This was before the concept of really hard hitting adverts - but I really feel that had I seen adverts like this and the other irish ones I would have slowed down sooner.

Adverts like this are usually shown late, so children shouldn't see them anyway. But if it saves lives I don't see an issue with a few kids seeing it - depending on age it may actuall stick with them when they start driving too.

It doesn't have to have a big impact to save lives. Some people will never slow down, but they may brake a bit earlier on a bend, or leave a little more room when overtaking. People allowing those extra safety margins will save lives.

  12. On a motors forum I read someone posted this up

before clicking the link be warned it is a somewhat graphic video - not gruesome just graphic

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKvJXqb_kUs

This is aired on TV in norther ireland as part of a sucessful TV campaign. It is a shame that the UK censors would not allow this sort of thing really. Be interested on peoples thoughts on this too.

(Put in contro purely because it didn't seem 'right' anywhere else.
