  1. Apparently it's inflation plus 1p.

So I save about three quid a month instead

Should you invest it in a high interest savings scheme

  2. Dont want to moan or go on about things but it's been pretty cr@ppy lately, losing my Archie then Tessie in quick succession really took it out of me.

Last week would have been my 2nd wedding anniversary, and this week it will have been 2 years since I lost Lisa. If there is any light at the end of the tunnel it's still appears to be a dot.

I know it's hard to believe right now but things will feel better with time. Lisa, Archie and Tessie will always be with you, in your heart and in your memories, but the raw pain does subside. Thinking of you :GroupHug:

  3. Thanks everyone for the advice - I decided to be uber cautious and work from home this week, staying away from the kids at the office is well nigh impossible. In the end what decided me was realising thanks to Gooster that whilst the risk to my eyes is minimal in the scale of things, having a nasty cold which invariably would affect my eyes as they always do was not something I really wanted if I could help it whilst I am still getting used to wearing a contact lens, plus hubby would end up with it as well and HE cant afford to be ill next week so in the end I went for the easy option :flowers:

Not the easy option Snow - the sensible option :)

Do hope your eye heals fully and that your vision does improve.

  4. Evening all :wavey:

I need to start packing for Australia but I am not used to normal packing only mad stooped dogstar packing where you have to cram loads of drips sets , needles , and autoclave tape inside 18kg worth of gas powered autoclave

this non veterinary packing is most odd indeed ! it appears I only have to put clothes , toiletries and work paperwork/books in my bags

not a drip set in sight ......

How very boring

  5. Don't be disappointed Alex - every one pound is worth it :flowers:

If you think you haven't lost much try picking up a one pound bag of apples or something similar and carry it around in your hand for 30 mins - you'll soon see just how much one pound really feels like it - and know that your body is no longer heaving that around. keep up the giood work

  6. well, the 1st of march and ive just had bad news at the doctors.

    ive got chronic liver disease

so if anyone remarks that they think im making up my illness, please tell them id love to be, but its very real :mecry:

Sorry to hear that Jazz :(

Do they think that this is what has been giving you the upset tummies?

Jazz, why would anyone say that they think you're making your illness up - surely no one on here?

Sending lots of :GroupHug: :GroupHug: for you

  7. I am very excited about a very exciting dogstar related thing that I have been excited about for a while but now I am able to be openly exited about now

this is how excited I am :jumpy:

Think it sounds very exciting Sam and a brilliant idea - I'm sure we all have those sort of clothes in the back of our wardrobes that could do with a good airing and wearing

Hope Dogstar can make lots of much needed cash from the event.

As it is now officiallly March I have started a new RMF for everyone - hope that's OK with the mods

  8. RMQ. Anyone know anything about interim death certificates?

Probably the wrong place to ask the question but I naughtily cannot be bothered to start a thread.

An interim death certificate is issued by the coroner to enable next-of-kin to begin processing the deceased's will and affairs, if a time delay would cause unnecessary hardship to the deceased's family. They are only issued when the coroner has ordered an inquest, which is opened for the formal identification of the deceased, and then adjourned for further inquiries and investigations to take place. The official death certificate is not issued until after completion of the full inquest proceedings.

A different form is issued by the coroner to allow the burial/ cremation to take place, again after the opening of the inquest for the formal ID.

  9. I can't believe I'm up this late, I will be wrecked tomorrow  When I was in my 20s I could work all day, do my shift behind the bar at the pub in the evening, go clubbing till the early hours and still be up at 6am for work

That's just the problem though isn't it

If you're anything like me, being in your 20s was a while ago although I do like to conveniently ignore that fact when I can
