  1. I agree with Alicia - apply if it's the job you'd really like.

Talk to your daughter straight away, tell her you're applying and why, and then it's up to her how she deals with it.

good luck and let us know how you get on with your application :)

  2. Well done Marge

All that hard work is really paying off now.

I've harvested my patio container of potatoes - good potatoes and a reasonable size this year. I have had several strawberries from my new plants (even though you're not supposed to in the first year) . My runner beans arer growing apace and the first few are almost ready for picking. My cauliflowers didn't go until very late, they were growing well but now the caterpillars have had a good feed  - just hoping that they recover.

Nothing beats harvesting and eating your own fruit and vegetables, however small the amounts

  3. I'm just as bad as you  I like rumaging around in the nearly dead plant section of garden centres, B&Q and suchlike for bargains. I got a Hollyhock yesterday for 50p

I like doing that as well :)

I managed to rescue four lots of cauliflower seedlings for 80p the other day and they're all growing in leaps and bounds now

    Anyone like cauliflower cheese

  4. morning

the funeral is at 10.30. please think of me as the whole family has fractured, nobody talking to anyone, so will be a nasty time :mecry:

they have been bullying me into trousers and shoes.found one pair of shoes, but even short trousers were on the floor, so going in black jean and trainers. its my mother and its the way she knows me nerrrr lol

Thinking of you at this time Alicia :GroupHug:

You wear what YOU are confortable in and like you say, that is how your mum knew you. You were the one who spent all the time with her, especially in these last few months.

Families can be the oddest things at the best of times and a death will often bring up lots of old resentments/ family divides etc. Ignore them all and just take the time to say goodbye to your very precious mum :GroupHug:

  5.

Peeved because I've personally paid £1.36 to receive an Oldies Club letter to find out it's a flaming vets bill. They haven't paid any postage at all. So I'm going to send their envelope back with the cheque and have a moan.

  So wrong when it's a charity and every penny is vital

Send them the cheque with the £1.36 deducted from the total - they won't do that again in a hurry :D
