  1. Just thought i would do an update on Oni and how she is doing at flyball. Oni has know been to flyball for 4 weeks and is doing very well last night i took my OH and son as Oni is a bit scared of the ball loaders so my Oh was on ball loading duties which helped alot she ran up and collected the ball when my OH rolled it down the flyball box and would run back to get her tuggie. We also had no wall of death this week so i was very pleased Oni is coping very well with turning which i thought she would have problems with but all was very good this week Agility hasn't happened yet as the weather has been so wet and as we train outside i didn't want to put her of if she slipped or fell so will hopefully start on Saturday weather permitting. we would love to hear from people who have pointy type dogs doing flyball/agility
  2. our living room did this so we gave up and just wall papered it much easier sorry not much help
  3. Lucky say's welldone Annie
  4. Hi Annegirl Please can you explain to me whats going on with this vote as i don't understand (also might be a bit thick)
  5. Just thought i would let you know how we have been getting on at Flyball with Oni Oni just love it and all my worrys about her hurting her legs are un-founded We have been going know for three weeks and she has picked up going down about three jumps and flying back to get her ball with the other ball in her mouth. The first week everytime she came back up the line of jumps she had to do a wall of death around the indoor school at top speed before coming back to a sausage. but this week only did it twice in the hour. I'm sorry no photos as yet as she is very wary of anyone near the lane. Oni is also starting Agility on Saturday so wish us luck
  6. Well I'm so pleased as Lucky made Flyball dog getting 200 points I know for some that it doesn't mean alot but to me it means everything. When Lucky started back in April he kept running of and i thought we would never get to the stage that we are know. He loves Flyball well done Lucky
  7. Thanks again Sandra Last night i got the number of a friend who uses a HomVet and phoned her up and she sounded really nice and said also not to vaccinate for this year she also thinks that conventional meds can't do anything for his condition but homeophathic can and does work. so i will go with this root for know and see what happeneds. again thanks for all of your help and guidence. Annyetta and Lucky
  8. Thank you Sandra for your kind words I am going to phone a lady tomorrow thats a Homeopathic vet and get her to see him and go from there i have been told that she can do the titre test thing. how will this effect my insurance? and will i still be able to take my dog to training classes?
  9. Thank you all so much for your advice and links I still don't know what to do in my heart i don't want him vaccinated again but my brain is telling me that if i don't would i be able to live with that disision if he became ill with something that could have been prevented with vaccinating him. When all this happened last year my vet waited until he was better in himself and of all the drugs before she vaccinated him, so he was vaccinated last year and he has not had any side effects from this but over the last year has been ok for some weeks then not right and this has gone on for the whole year. could this be from the vaccine or just his white cell count (i just don't know). The past week he has not been himself again after having a tummy upset which ended with him on drip and again another bout of antibotics for the next week. He is not right in himself again and i think my vet must think i'm a worry wart but i can't help it he is my life Sorry if this has coursed any problems but i needed to ask someone who wasn't connected in anyway if you know what i mean
  10. Please can someone advice me on what to do for the best. Last year Lucky was very ill and we nearly lost him he had to have a granulated cycoma removed from the inside of his back leg, which was coursed by a forign object but nothing was found so the vets thought he was maybe bitten by a bug of some kind even a tick, so he had been treated for limes disease but nothing was confurmed. After all of this he was left with some Liver damage which has been treated and also a low white cell count even when he is un-well its only just noramal if that makes any sence. Lucky was vaccinated last year a few months after he was feeling better but has not been 100% right since we nearly lost him last year. This morning Lucky again is very un-well he has been at the vets allday on a drip which has really stressed him out since being home has been sick and smells really bad. bless him my question is would you vaccinate him if he was your dog? He does do Flyball and Agility and is out and about most days with other dogs so would hate for him to get anything or pass something on. sorry for the long thread but need to have all the facts as he needs vacc in December. thanks Agilitymad
  11. Well I take back everything I said about my boy We had a fantastic agility training class today and Lucky didn't put a foot wrong I know its early days but I feel today that we are on the right track His waits before we started to jump a course where really good his contacts where just and his weaves are getting better (they would be even better if the handler new her left from her right) anyway you did very very well Lucky
  12. doggie mum what a fab idea i will give it ago what treats work best do you think. cheese/sausage
  13. hi Leonak i have tried squeaky toys but that seems to make him worse we are in the new forest but have just put our names down for the shows that your on about we are going to the one in Dec/Jan and March which look great will you be at any of them?
  14. Well Oni had a wonderfull time at flyball yesterday She ran down the line of flyball jumps to warm up with out hitting her legs at 100 miles an hour then did a lap of honour around the indoor school and then came back to me for a sausage then we throw the ball down the line of jumps half way and she went down picked up the ball and ran back up to me then did another lap of the indoor school (i think she was really excited by know) Then lost the plot completly so we put her back in the car untill next week As she is only just over 1yr i thought she had done enough for her first time. Sorry no pictures as she was too quick for the camera got home and she slept all night and is still sleepy know which is good as by this time she is normally chasing Lucky up and down the living room
  15. Thank you Lucy I think the game over idea is great and i will have to give it ago at the next class Bee has been very good at class with helping but it still gets me fustrated when he goes of sniffing as i know that when he puts his mind to it he is really quite good. I also forget that dee meg and the others don't alway go clear thanks again l
  16. Hi I wonder whether any one has some experiance on keeping your dog concentrating while doing an agility round. Lucky really loves his Agility but after about 4 jumps will take off and do his own thing be it sniffing or running of. At class we have gone back to only doing two are three obsticles but he can't seem to consentrate when doing more his contacts areknow 99% and his weaves are getting better Lucky is a fast dog which i can'nt keep up with and if he puts his mind to it can work well infront of me when he does go off and do his own thing I find it hard to get him back and working close with me, he is very inderpendent but at flyball is a different dog. has anyone got any suggestions as i am loosing hope of ever getting a clear round with my boy or just keeping him with me on a round of jumps would be nice. Lucky is 3yrs old and has been doing agility for about 2yrs is feed on burns and is walked everyday for an hr and loves his ball and some treats. Any help would be great. thank you
  17. Oni is starting Flyball on Monday I think my instructor is dreading it though, as she is so fast and a bit of a wimp if she knocks herself but i know that she will just love it as she just loves chasing those balls. i will let you all know how she gets on.
