I shall be in london for 3 days with my folks by the looks of it. I shall get your number before i head south, and come and hunt you down Im a northerner - i cant afford whiskey in london or any other spirit for that matter... took me days last time to get over spending a weekend saying 'how much?'
Aye - it's grim up North but Kathy will look after you- she looked after me when I ventured "down South"
BTW Kathy you & Ray are always welcome here (lots of dogs for you to fuss).

I remember that Kathy, OMG that poor GSD puppy, if that happened to any of mine I would beat the **** out of her, what a b****. No amount of money would make up for a pup/ dog being hurt, let alone killed.

Brilliant idea (and yes it's my vet's practice)

I am looking for some real life feedback on dogs who have had cruciate ligament injuries for the best success in future movement. There is a strong possibility that Barty may have damaged his cruciate ligament, the injury he suffered last week that we thought was his disc slipping again is NOT and he has injured either his cruciate or the hock ligament. As some of you know Barty has HD off the scale with both hips having no sockets and he also has a bulging disc. I am hoping that he has slightly torn or tweaked it and some form of conservative management will create a complete cure, but whatever we do it is imperative that he gets full movement and use back of that leg or he will not be able to support his hips.
I would really appreciate hearing what people have done with a young dog (Barty is only 6) and what the success has been. We get back to the UK on Sunday afternoon and he is going in on Monday morning for a full assessment and xrays under sedation so we will know for certain what he has done after that.
Looking forward to hearing from you all.
Any news yet? My Tishka had a cruciate rupture and I still have all the medical rewcords if any use?

I am so sorry for your loss but what a peaceful passing for Spike

My auntie sadly passed away today peacefully after a long fight against breast cancer. She had retired to live in Spain and leaves behind her husband David, daughter Susan, Sue's husband Andy & their little boy Calum who have got a flight to Spain tonight with my mum ( funerals in Spain take place within a day or two).
Sheila was a lovely lady and I have fond memories of staying at their home in Llanrwst, North Wales, Chester and visiting David's parent's house on Lord Derby's estate (his dad was his valet).
My mum went to Spain a few weeks ago for Sheila's 70th birthday.
Sheila was looking forward to seeing Cliff Richard later this year, I emailed his author & fan club & explained everything and Sir Cliff sent her a signed photo that she was made up with.
Sheila refused to take drugs and had alternative therapies, she was very strong despite being in so much pain.
My heart goes out to Sue and my mum, especially my mum having lost my dad in March.
This year myself & my husband have lost his mum & uncle, my auntie , my dad & my auntie Edna, Sheila as well as our GSD Jade.
Please light a candle, say a prayer for my Auntie Sheila.
Thankyou for your kind messages. I bought a card and would like to know if you think it's appropriate. We are not a religious family (the few of us that are left), more spiritual.
This is what I chose:
The sorrow that comes upon us
When death's shadows fall,
May make us feel that no one
Will answer to our call.
Yet, when a loved one's taken
Their spirit still lives on,
Amidst a world of peace and calm
from where all suffering's gone.
You see, although from Earthly life
They now have gone away,
In truth they have awoken
To a beautiful new day.
So, although you grieve so dearly now
With each long day to fill,
May you know that, beyond the clouds,
The sun is shining for you still.
