  1. Hi I received this email today. More peeps that know the better, cant believe the lowlifes that would make money out of this :(

I recieved this email from Amanda at Endangered Dogs Defence and Rescue today:

DDA WATCH have heard there may be a scam aimed at the owners of registered dogs. It suggests that owners are being offered the chance to walk registered dogs without a muzzle once a fee of £75 has been paid. The owners are then being given a form which tells them they do not have to follow the restriction relating to wearing a muzzle.

    THIS IS A SCAM!

If you have a registered dog there is NO way of having the restrictions lifted unless the law is changed. No amount of money and no piece of paper exists that allows you to break the restrictions.

If you break the restrictions in any way for any reason you could be breaking the law and are at risk of your dog being seized and killed. You could also find yourself with a prison term, fine, ban from keeping animals or similar.

If you are in any doubt about any of the restrictions that registered dogs and their owners must follow, please call DDA Watch on 0844 844 2900 or email [email protected] .

If anyone has been offered any similar offer do NOT hand over any money or personal details, please contact your local police immediately.

  2. Not sure if you know about this boy, he's just been posted on the Bullie forum, I am sure if your not already involved any help would be very welcome from this devastated family

    Cross posted fro Bullie Board

Bruce is a beautiful, loving, friendly cross "Pitbull type dog" who was found straying as a puppy in N.Ireland and taken by his new family. He was then seized from his loving family over a year ago now (19th September '07) and his health has seriously deteriorated since he was taken away, while the authorities decide his fate.

He was found by his family as a stray The owners have only been allowed to see him once and his condition is now appauling. He has lost a lot of weight and has a bad sore on his nose which is infected from trying to get out of the cage he is in.

Please look at the following YouTube link to see what a magnificent creature he was before they took him away and the state he is in now.

Now please sign the petition to try to get him reunited with his family.

    http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/BRING-BRUCE-HOME-X

NOTE THIS BEAUTIFUL DOG HAS DONE NOTHING WRONG - he has a wondeful temperament and a loving family who just want him back.

Let's try to make a difference and get as many people as possible to sign the petition and cross-post wherever you can.

WHEN WILL THEY STOP PUNISHING THE MANY BECAUSE OF THE FEW?

    DEED NOT BREED!

    2nd post

I meant to add, that a decision was made on 12th September this year that he was a "Pit Bull type" and should be destroyed. The family have appealed - I just hope it's not too late!

What makes me so angry is that they've taken all this time to come to a decision and his health (and happiness) has suffered so terribly because of it. How long can it take to do an assessment and come to a decision on whether he's a Pit or not? If they had decided a year ago, it would have been totally unfair and very tragic, but at least he wouldn't have suffered all these months. Bawl Looking at the pictures of the poor, emaciated boy now, I think it amounts to animal cruelty.

Anf if he is a "Pit Bull type", why couldn't they have just insisted on neutering and muzzle and give the beautiful boy back? Why does he have to die??????

  3. Roxy the Bull Terrier always seems to be smiling, she is such a funny dog, and just wants to make you laugh, but she can also be naughty stubborn and strong willed, She loves nothing more than a cuddle but is such a lump when she tries to climb on your lap

  4. Please sign the petition brought up by the link to stop the barbaric practice of skinning animals alive but PLEASE do not watch the video

    http://www.animalsaviors.org/petition.html

Also feel free to cross post this or spread it around as many ways as possible

The petition is down in the bottom left hand corner, the picture is horrific but there are no such pics when you click it.

Edit - I've amended the link so it goes straight to the petition page (DON'T click on the video!!!)

  5. This is crossposted from another forum

The story is this. Walter was a four month old chocolate lab stolen from his garden on 12th June. I found out via a friend at work and got him on Doglost website

    http://www.doglost.co.uk/Page.aspx?data=pz...xJvs7Eclsm4KHdt.

Owner had done all the right things - contacting vets, police, rspca, kennels, dog warden etc and postering. I spoke to them daily as they started getting anonymous tip offs suggesting they knew where Walter was. The tip offs led to the police raiding a farm in Bracknell where Walter was recovered (safe and well, but very smelly and a bit thin!) 3 weeks after he went missing.

The police were fantastic - now I dont say that very often, but they took this seriously and got Walter home.

Now a local newspaper is slagging them off daring to suggest that it was a "waste of police time" - how dare they!!!

Ann (Walters mum) has asked me to spread the word and get as many people as possible to email the newspaper to tell them they are wrong - and to email the police to say well done - without the police Walter would never be home.

PLease please take a minute to send a s**tty message to

    e-mail is: [email protected]

    phone: 01932 561111

    write: Surrey Herald and News

    and thanks to

    [email protected]

I tried to find a link to the newspaper article but couldn't. If anyone else can that would be great.

Missing dogs get little enough help as it is, all we need now is papers slagging off the police when they are interested.

  7. Posted on the Bullie forum, I think this is just the London area, but would be useful if any rescues could access it, sorry don't have any other info just thought I'd pass it on,

There was a notice in my vets saying that the Mayhew clinics were neutering all bull terrier breeds for free
  8. Also a yes here, I'm on the bone marrow list too, would be quite proud if I was ever called up to donate,

What do you think of egg donation, I couldn't do that myself,

Would have loved for my son to have had the chance to be a donor, but he was trapped for too long during the accident, and it was too late to use anything, :mecry:

  9. FFS How can that be legal,

sorry if this has already been put up, but better lots of posts than none,

I think we need to keep an eye on this, 4 breeds already from the same person. BYB or what, :(

  10. voted twice cus I got 2 internet opening pages, (I dont have a clue what thats all about, but it always allows me 2 votes  )

    Yes 1259

    40%

    No 1875

    60%

Should be able to add it to a few more sites today too,

Do you think anyone (official) actually takes any notice of these kind of votes, do they "go" anywhere, or get used in any kind of argument, and do you think the paper will even print the results if there is such a resounding positive vote for Rotties, after all its only the negative stuff that sells papers isn't it.

ps, just in case you haven't seen this, (more positive)
