  1. Havn't been around much latley but am Looking forward to the weekend.

Wendy you dont have to bring a lot just yourself, the boys and your beds. :) Everything else will be there.

The TARDIS will be coming aswell, but has been promised to some one, think its Guiness's mum. Come and take it away when you get there, you are so welcome to it!

  2. You guys always take brilliant pics. Really nice day, great to see so many Labs enjoying themselves together. Was quite an eventful walk after the panic with poor Bert and the heavens opening up on the way back. We all got rather wet although not quite as wet as poor Helen  Glad you got home safe and sound and have now dried off :GroupHug:

  3. Snoopy is doing really well after coming off the heart meds that he didnt need. His new meds for his arthritis has worked wonders and he is a much happier and brighter dog, now he is not in so much pain and discomfort. Dont get me wrong, he is still quite a frail old thing but is now enjoying life and cant contain himself when you put on his collar and barks with joy if he thinks hes going out in the car for a trip to the park.

He was also full to the brim with worms, which has now been sorted. He has a bit of a cough still especially at night which we are still trying to sort. When this is done he will be ready for his write up for the website.

  4. Thats great news that he doesn't need the drugs - damn annoying that he had them in the first place though :( well spotted Lynne!

Really hope he picks up now bless him

Is he getting on with Todd & your new addition?

Hes not bothered by anything really, he 's just a very quiet laid back kind of dog and acts like hes been here for ages

Thats definately good news. Just hope the meds havent done any lasting damage to him. Do you think he would be ok by Sat for bath?

I know who the permanent addition is

I would think so amy, will give you an update later in week

  5. Introducing Todds new housemate

This is Nellie, a tiny JR from Many Tears who is 18 months old and has already had a litter of 4 pups about 12 weeks ago  . She wasnt at all happy in kennels and was a nervous little thing, but she has settled well and is being shown the ropes by Todd and Snoopy :) . She is very gentle and a very seet little thing and I think Todd actually likes her and is not scared of her. She definatly likes him and insists on kissing him everytime she passes him

  6. Snoopys been to the vets tonight and I really wasnt expecting too much :( .Hes really frail and seems very fragile but I am so happy to be able to tell you that he isnt as bad as we thought. :)

The medication he was on was for quite a bad heart condition. he was given a far to high dose of everything!, BUT he only has a slight heart murmur(this was checked out by 2 of the senior vets)and not too serious at all. The fruisimide was as I thought and he didnt need to take it at all and was doing him a lot of harm  . My vets were astounded at the wrong diagnosis and the over prescribing. He is now off the fruisimide and 1 of the heart tabs and just has to take a low dose of vetmedin for the next week to wean him off .He has a slight cough but is bronchial rather than heart.

At least his constant peeing will stop

The poor thing has severe arthritis and is in pain. He has now been given the correct drugs for this and my vets said we should see a different dog in a weeks time.

He has told me Amy not too groom or pull him about for a few days so the arthritis drugs have time to kick in,so he will have to stay smelly for a while longer  .

He is off his cat food and is enjoying a nice new senior diet along with Todd

Oh did I forgot to say that Snoopy is now my new foster dog :)

  7. will give OC a donation for it, have sent you a pm :)

Its yours :) will bring it along with me

I had a feeling Peggy had looked at it in disgust and slept in the car thats why I hadnt included her in the total

Yes you are correct Amy. Peggy was rather disgusted at it but she did actually sleep in it so it was 4 dogs and me

  8. Would br lovely to meet you so dont back out. Its a pretty relaxed, informal weekend. If you click here you can see the photos from when we went last year Camping 08 piccies

One tent that can contain 1 person 1 lab and 2 piddly poodles

    camp5.jpg

LOL. very funny Amy, dont remind me!! Actually it was 1 person,1 lab,2 piddly poodles and Peggy so 4 dogs in all  so if anyone wants the said tent, let me know and you can have it :)

  9. Introducing the very gorgeous Snoopy. Hes only halfway to his new foster home because of the snow. He is a very sweet old man and has settled here already. Hes had a good meal with Todd tonight and is now sleeping it off. Hes really very matted and knotted so will be ready for a bath and a groom if he is settled in himself in the next few days.

He has been taking 40mg of fruisimide twice per day. 80mgs sounds a huge amount to me, dont know if anyone else agrees, and probably is the reason he hasnt stopped peeing all afternoon!

Think he will have to get to the vets to sort his meds out.

Many thanks Phebe(owl) for braving the weather to get this old man moved.
