My dear sweet Suki cat, passed away at 6:36am on 28th Sept from old age, I was with her to the end. She went naturally. She's left a huge hole in my life but pawprints on my heart forever.

Not a dumb question
I have conductive hearing loss, this means my eardrums are able to hear but sound cannot get to my eardrum via the normal route (ear canals). The implant bypasses (or did cos it's failed now) the ear canals sending the sound directly to the ear drum.
However thanks to mrsa the implant no longer works so i'm waiting to have it removed and will be going on the list for a cochlear implant which is similar but sends the sound directly to the brain instead
So sorry to hear you've had mrsa. Fascinating what they have done, and I hope the cochlear implant works for you.

I apologise in advance for the dumb question but why do you have a hearing aid implanted to your head??

I did happen to watch the prog on Ch4 sometime ago, on Man's best friend (not a dog!) and they showed a 'lengthening op' they cut through a muscle and then after healed the man has to attach weights to the end of it and sit like that while watching tv etc, madness pure madness. This guy was going onto have a widening op in the future too.
