  1. Mindy and her mom. Marion for Jimmy Cat. Trudi and Mark I have been mowing the lawn (on my birthday no less ) and now need to sweep. Matty bought me a chimnea for my birthday. I am sooooooooooooo excited. I have wanted one for about 3 years. Very pleased.
  2. Um, I'm not jealous of your kitchen at all. Nope not one little bit.
  3. I say Norman. (My neice has a hamster called Norman and he walks on a lead ) Oh needs to sound like Sabre. What about Simon? Steven? Sebastien? That's all I've got at the mo.
  4. Snow, that's terrible. Anne, really hope Eddie is OK. I've done dishes, laundry, made bread and am about to take hounds out. Quelle surprise, M has nothing planned nor has done nothing (so far) for my birthday. Kats n Greys posted elsewhere that this is nothing as lonely as being in the wrong relationship. Is she ever right.
  5. No of course it hasn't been! It's Laxey and it's the IOM! Kerrang Radio ! Jeeez, they better pull it off then! Aw Ro - that had me a little teary. I think I'm totally hormonal today.
  6. I live about 15 minutes away from Laxey. However, M is playing a gig in Laxey next weekend or something like that. Was it Brown's Cafe? IOM does rock. Good place to have fun.
  7. Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! Um, I thought you weren't getting another one? You softie! There is lots of room. Don't get your hopes too up however. It's all talks at the mo. You guys and Jules can still come visit even if Coldplay don't come over you know
  8. I have just been sent an email on 'high / important' regarding maintaining the shredder. Since when did I become in charge of shredder maintenance? And why is being sent high / important?
  9. OMG - how the wok did you hear about that? Jeeeez, it's all the talk over here, especially on a local music forum. All the music 'in the knows' are poo pooing it, saying it'll never happen. I'm not convinced, but if it goes ahead - fan dabba dooozie. And of course you can share me yurt - it will be nice and lovely. You have first dibs And I'll have land so others can camp.
  10. Me too. And I am sure you will approach it in the right way, too. Today I feel like this - Head. Brick. Wall. Morning.
  11. Congratulations Laura. She has certainly landed on her feet with you and your clan. I'm sorry but that has me in hysterics.
  12. I'm having 'Burn Baby Burn' play as my coffin gets wheeled behind the curtains when I'm cremated.
  13. Really, really, really pleased Lee is at home, Di. By the By, have you received anything in the post? I am very excited about potential-still-in-the-works-and-needs-lots-of-research land / yurt deal. It's the small things apparently. I've had 3 large G&T's and can't remember what else was posted. Sorry.
  14. I think I've moved on from a Tipi. I don't think it would withstand Manx winds. So I have moved on to a .... Mongolian Yurt! Check out this company. Yurts
  15. Ohhh, see, this is what I like to hear. I would have a bit wood burning pot bellied stove in the centre of moi tipi, however. So nice and toasty. I think I need to buy some books and do some research before I buy my land. Just glad to know taht buying land (not building land however, but that's minor details) on the Island is not as difficult as I thought. At least at the moment. I know it sounds crazy when three months ago I was talking about moving back to Canada in a couple of years, but I just feel like the life I'm currently living is not the one for me. Living on a modern housing estate, working full time for the government, all my money going towards a house that is not even mine therefore basically giving my money away, etc. Something has got to change and as I can't afford to buy a house with a little bit of land, I'll take the land first, me thinks. OH we'lll seeeeeee what happens, I guess.
  16. Yay! Does that Tipi have a sattelite dish on it!!!!
  17. Yes please. I never thought I could either. I contemplated living at my parent's cabin back home for a while but it had no running water which turned me off, and no electricity but I could live with that. Main thing would have been the commute to work. I would set it up with big generators so I could have leccy and some sort of solar shower and a bath with a fire built underneath. Thinking of having an 'annex' to the tipi for my kitchen. Like I said, I need to do some serious research. Di - A Tipi
  18. I have found quite of few plots of land for sale which are reasonable. I am seriously considering purchasing one. Then purchasing a tipi, generator, wood stove, fencing (if the land isn't already fenced), pump, and hens and whatever else I need to live out there. I see some serious research ahead of me. I need to simplify my life. However, I can't jump into this willy nilly, but it's what I feel I should do. I need a plan and living on some land has always been my dream...albiet with a real house, but hey, beggers can't be choosers. You think a rescue would rehome to someone who lives in a tipi???
