  1. I'm very sorry to hear your news Philip, but thank you for letting us know about Suzeanna.

I'm glad you had the support of a hospice, they do fabulous work.

    Look after yourself.

  2. Good thoughts please for a little injured hedgehog youngster who we found this afternoon and have just dropped off at the wildlife hospital. There are not many reasons that I'd choose to drive round the M25 in the rush hour, but a hedgehog in need is one of them!

  3. Very pleased to hear your good news Owl! Good news is really important at the moment!

Some friends rang yesterday to say they are moving west. I will miss them being so close but am very pleased for them. The lockdown made them have a major rethink about what they wanted from life - so they are going from the sound of the M25 in their back garden to the more rural delights of Somerset. I'm more than a bit envious.

My missing glasses were under the sofa Karen - and, no, I have no idea how they got there. Might be worth a look?

Good idea, I will go and check now. I looked down the side of the sofa cushions yesterday, but not underneath!

Good news of the day, after searching for months I have found the keys to the padlock for the hedgehog zone at end of garden.  Exactly where I expected them to be, on the keyholder by back door, where all spare keys live. I had even tried them but they didn't work, so I assumed they must be extras for the side gate. It suddenly struck me today that I should make sure of that. Too big for side gate padlock, so the answer was obvious. They could only belong to hedgehog gate, and the padlock must be rusted shut. Attacked it with WD40, all sorted now :)

Great news about the keys! Maybe if you happen to know where my glasses are you could help me too?! I feel I am turning into my mum, I've never had a problem with losing things until the last few weeks. Until then I used to have a bit of talent for finding lost things.

Wish it would rain here. 33.3 degrees yesterday down the road at Heathrow.

  6. Really wish it would rain here.

One of our local nature reserves has been burning since Saturday, so dry that cigarettes or abandoned barbeques have had a devastating effect. Horsell Common (where the martians landed if you know your War of the Worlds) was being deliberately set on fire by kids on Saturday. So sad that people have so little regard for wildlife, more than a bit frightening for people who live next to these areas and an unwanted extra stress for the firefighters.

  7. I remember Wispa arriving too. Happy special day Wispa but isn't it shocking how quickly those years have passed by.

OH's nephew told us, during the family Zoom chat this morning, that he will be 40 on his next birthday. In my mind he is still seven, the age he was when I first met him!

  8. Hope it's not too sunny or you will be cooked!

Are you in touch with Ruby while she is having the treatment for her to give you an update of how much longer? The following sessions are generally a bit quicker, unless you faint for the first time in your life as I did at the beginning of session 2, and wake up to find not one but two crash teams standing over me!

  9. Suseanna, the plan is to make more space on the pavements to enable social distancing. To be honest the pavements here are as bad or worse than the roads.

If you are someone who usually takes a train or bus to work, it's a daunting thought to do that and keep the 2 metre distance. I appreciate all efforts made to help people keep safe.

How are your new guests doing Yantan?

  10. The wider cycle lanes are being done with cones etc as a temporary measure. The pilot projects for hiring electric scooters are going to be extended to all areas. There are suggestions of something like new Park and cycle places for cities, to encourage driving a bit less and cycling a bit more.

Then they will see how successful it all is.

I think it's a great idea if it encourages people to cycle and walk instead of driving.
