owl
Definitely licking windows special in Finley"s case, usually because he is catching flies. He's very good at it, and only goes after flies. Leaves bumbles alone if they get it, and waits for me to let them out.
blackmajik
Much cooler today and slight dampness in the air. Harry tries to catch flies but never succeeds and then barks with frustration.

blackmajik
1 hour ago, Jazz said: did you have scenery from your windows or nearby? yes, I lived in rural crofting strath- glen- on a single track road, overlooking fields, trees, river and hills. It was picture postcard. Scenery changed every day with the weather. We had pheasants, red legged grouse and numerous smaller birds visiting the garden. Deer visited the sheep feeders in the field next door to us. Our nearest neighbour was half a mile away. We had a 1 acre garden, including a wood. No street lights, no public transport but a subsidised taxi could be booked. It was a friendly community of about 100 most elderly crofters whose families had been there for generations. We moved there when we retired. having two dogs, one reactive to strange dogs running up to him, it was ideal. the moment we walked into the house to view it we both felt 'at home'. unfortunately, it was not practical for me alone. it took Jim three hours to cut the grass with a big mower that I could not move. neighbours kindly stepped in but Icould not expect them to do it permanently. Also, it was 260 miles away from family which was a 6 hour car journey, due to 40 miles of single track road and the infamous A9 road. Inow live in Midlothian, just south of Edinburgh. 5 minutes away from my son and family. Other son lives in Romania.
