It's going to take time, the rescue should know she needs to take it at her own pace.

A round lump has suddenl;y appeared at the base of Wispa's ear, at the front. Will call vet first thing to make an appointment. She has various fatty lumps but this seems different. Not tender or hot, not bothering her, but definitely bothering me

hope shes ok xx

the rescue knew she was an outside dog, but thought she would want to come inside, well, no. nearly a week. waiting to see what they want to do. Im not stressing her out by carrying her in for 10 minutes and her shooting back out as soon as the door is open

She may have a bad association with being taken indoors.

I think she does need a little nudge to get her to come out of her shell.

Make up a cosy crate with her blanket etc  out of the kennel. Cover it with a blanket or sheet and put it in a quiet place.

If you can,  sit and speak to her  - reading a book has been used  in rescues- may help her. Just someone sitting quietly beside her, reading a book so basically ignoring her, but offering  a friendly voice.  with a few titbits dropped in the crate   occasionally,  without looking at her,  may help.

All ok here, big relief, the lump was a fluid cyst under so much pressure that it felt harder than they usually do. Vet drew out a big syringe full, then when he took needle out the rest squirted out and soaked his overall! Must have felt very uncomfortable for Wispa, having that between ear and eye.

she was very happy in the yard in romania, but 8yrs old with arthritis, they didnt want her to carry on being an outside dog. Its all she knows. The lady shes going to has had a lot of problem dogs, so this will be easy for her
