blackmagic
sounds like she has shut down already. Do you know anything about TTouch- Tellington Touch.? It is a process of very light touches which can help relax an animal. It might help her and would be worth a try. https://www.dogtrainingnation.com/how-to-train-a-dog/ttouch-for-scared-dogs/
Jazz
I picked her up and brought her in, a nice bed and her blanket. she was happy to take treats there and had her dinner. Shes gone back in the kennel, but its a start
Jazz
she only knows a kennel on her own and a yard with other dogs, no wonder she wants to be in there
owl
It's going to take time, the rescue should know she needs to take it at her own pace. A round lump has suddenl;y appeared at the base of Wispa's ear, at the front. Will call vet first thing to make an appointment. She has various fatty lumps but this seems different. Not tender or hot, not bothering her, but definitely bothering me
Jazz
hope shes ok xx the rescue knew she was an outside dog, but thought she would want to come inside, well, no. nearly a week. waiting to see what they want to do. Im not stressing her out by carrying her in for 10 minutes and her shooting back out as soon as the door is open
blackmagic
The kennel is her secure place. Would she accept a covered crate indoors? How old is she?
Jazz
shes 8. i could try it, but she was shaking in terror just being just inside the door. im waiting to go shopping with lewis, ill try it later xxx
blackmagic
She may have a bad association with being taken indoors. I think she does need a little nudge to get her to come out of her shell. Make up a cosy crate with her blanket etc out of the kennel. Cover it with a blanket or sheet and put it in a quiet place. If you can, sit and speak to her - reading a book has been used in rescues- may help her. Just someone sitting quietly beside her, reading a book so basically ignoring her, but offering a friendly voice. with a few titbits dropped in the crate occasionally, without looking at her, may help.

owl
All ok here, big relief, the lump was a fluid cyst under so much pressure that it felt harder than they usually do. Vet drew out a big syringe full, then when he took needle out the rest squirted out and soaked his overall! Must have felt very uncomfortable for Wispa, having that between ear and eye. blackmagic
Glad Wispa is okay. Better for Amy that she gets settled in her permanent home rather than have to move on later. Wishing her all the best for her new life. These dogs go through so much.
Jazz
she was very happy in the yard in romania, but 8yrs old with arthritis, they didnt want her to carry on being an outside dog. Its all she knows. The lady shes going to has had a lot of problem dogs, so this will be easy for her
