October. It really is!

Yes do wait until your gums are back to normal Jazz before you start going for impressions. I had to have 3 sessions for my little plate to get the right fit and final fitting. I love mine by the way as it means I can chew on the left side with them in and I really don't know it's there otherwise.

I'm going to try and do some online Christmas shopping today and a little bit of genealogy maybe.

It's wet and grey here so I won't be venturing out.I did have a little ride out in my car yesterday just to get out of the house and see the autumn colours.

Dreary and grey here too, drizzle rather than proper rain.

Philip had taken Candy out for her  evening walk last night, I was in the kitchen when I heard the front door handle go down, so turned to talk to him but no...no one coming in.  That handle makes a very distinctive noise when pushed down, I wasn't imagining it.  He came home about five minutes later and I asked if he'd seen anyone strange in the street and he said yes, there was bloke so drunk he could hardly stand, let alone walk! Staggering everywhere, and in the end walking in the middle of the road with cars swerving to avoid him.  I presume it was him that tried our door, glad Philip always locks it when he takes Candy out.  I didn't hear any sirens last night, so he must have managed not to get run over! Philip said no one he recognised as been local, hope he doesn't make a habit of it.

Yantan... heard back from the registrar's... still can't find Carl's death...he is deffo dead and died here in Coventry so was registered here, the lady at the crematorium has found him on the computer there, they searched variations of names ... nothing, it's like someone hasn't written him down

Raining steadily here but forecast to clear  up later. Off to Worksop to do some shopping.

A fortnight tomorrow I go on hols. Getting a bit anxious as it is 9 years since I left Wales. It seems like another lifetime. I have mapped out the journey carefully and decided on 3 places to stop, dividing the journey into 3 hopefully manageable sections. You would think I am planning a round the world trip, not the kind of hols that people go on all the time. I suspect I am getting a bit agoraphobic so need to snap out of it and prove to myself that I can still go places 200 miles away.

Owl, Carl died in 2014, it's really really odd...both Yantan and I found his birth but nobody can find his death but the crematorium has a record of his cremation...I shall pop in to the office when I am taking the flowers off my nans grave... hopefully if I can find what month he was cremated we may be able to find out exactly what's going on

I hope you don't get yourself too worked up about your holidays and I think splitting it into 3 is a really sensible thing to do

Owl just take your time on the trip to Wales, stop more often if you feel you or Wispa need more breaks. We always try and make the travelling part of the holiday and will stop off if something catches our eye. The aim is to arrive with as little stress from the journey as possible. Have a ready meal or something easy to make for your dinner when you get there so you can settle in with your feet up and enjoy.

Oh Betty's Of York what are you trying to do to me sending me a gorgeous little catalogue of your tempting Christmas fare? Begone you temptress!

Yantan I always travel with plenty of provisions plus thermos, and will take something easy for evening meal. I don't want to take too long as would like to arrive before dark, especially as the last bit is narrow winding roads through steep hills. Otherwise I would be happy to check out the interesting places en route.

Today turned out bright and sunny and we had a good walk through fields.

Was nice here too today, couple of light showers but sunny otherwise. Got loads done in the garden so tired and achey, but enjoyed myself.

Can't do Christmas shopping this early. Haven't got so many to buy for nowadays but December is early enough for me.

I'm sure you'll be fine Owl. It's always daunting thinking about the journey but what a relief when you've done it and can just relax and enjoy the holiday.

That sounds weird Griff. I do hope Carl WAS dead when he was cremated lol (sorry if innapropriate humour).
