owl
This is the rubbish we are up against: https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/village-under-siege-absolutely-mad-16218486 People are keeping their cats and free range chooks in and being sensible. That is all. No idea who the wildlife tracker is. Not me!
Yantan
Well they say only bad news sells Owl so I am not surprised some have decided to exaggerate. Your local hunt sabs might have a drone they'd be willing to send up on the search. I got a lovely pair of ear studs for my birthday but typically I have already lost the back of one of them. I thought I had lost the stud too but found it in my bra. I have just been for a hair cut so I think the back must have come loose during the process. griff
Right so they eat small mammals and went after a goat and a horse...are they classed as small mammals coz I think they are quite big, bet that pair were paid for their story too Pleased you found the stud Yantan...shame about the back though, I have 5hoops going up my ears and my hairdresser manages to pull at least one out each to time I go Edited May 29, 2019 by griff
owl
The goat and the horse are a pygmy goat and a Shetland pony, and the dog which was threatened was a small pup. I am off shortly with some useful gear which a friend has just brought to lend the owners. We have drone pilot, thanks Yantan. Local guy who helped with a missing dog in January. griff
I hope they are caught soon before some halfwit does them harm. Will they get rehomed to a zoo or something?
eve
Happy birthday Yantan. Pleased you hadn't lost the actual earring. The backing can be replaced. Hope you have a lovely evening xx Hope the raccoon dogs are captured soon with no harm to either them or local pets and livestock. Especially with news agencies ramping up hysteria, totally irresponsible reporting.
Jazz
so. went to the doctors, stood in the queue for 20 minutes, asked for the blood test form, they were about to post it! took half an hour to book all the appointments.
suzeanna
At least you've got some, Jazz. Hope they aren't too far in the future! My son bought me some lovely earrings once, this was when we first got Rosie. She used to cuddle up to my neck and I suddenly realised she was nibbling my ear and ...swallowed my earring! I didn't have the stomach to look for it afterwards, and never confessed the loss to my son. 2

owl
Glad you got that sorted, Jazz. If the raccoon dogs can be caught they will probably go back to their people but with new accommodation. I doubt a zoo will take them as all the zoos have them.
eve
Sorry if I missed it but why did these people have them in the first place Owl?
griff
I think owl said someone was selling them for £50 in manky cat carriers so the chap stepped in and bought them Jazz, glad you have everything fixed up I am having a flair up...not really surprised, stress induced, have some cream to try and sort my nose out
owl
Eve, they are experienced with them and have a very socialised one. Only took on these 2 to rescue them, as a man was selling them in a pub and they were bought by someone who felt sorry for them and then could not cope. suzeanna
I don't sleep too badly as a rule, although I do tend to wake every couple of hours but last night woke at 3.15, went to the loo and was still awake at 6.15! Of course I then went to sleep and the alarm goes off at 7 this week, so I feel your pain Griff. Can you get any more pills, or don't they want you to risk getting addicted? Personally I'd rather risk the addiction and get a decent night's sleep! I've got a lot of very miffed birds and a peeved squirrel at the moment as we've run out of sunflower seeds. I've taken the feeders down to give them a good clean and various birds are landing on the empty pole and looking around as if they've been hidden somewhere! Squirrel climbed the pole, got back down, climbed the cherry tree to where the other feeder should have been and sat there lashing its tail and probably feeling hard done by. I do have a delivery of seeds coming this afternoon, so they'll not have to starve! It's quite funny, most times when I go into the garden and look up at the roof there's a line of fancy doves, waiting hopefully for the feeders to be filled. Clever magpie is still coming and doing its party trick to make them swing and drop seeds for it.
