Lol Yantan...I am just having a couple of those weeks, dogs being ill, and generally everything going wrong!

Steve has seen the podiatrist, he is off for another month...he can't afford it but he isn't able to walk properly let alone drive all day

I've had similar weeks myself Griff. I hope next week is a better one for you :flowers:

Jeepers just had a quick look at some property in Cockermouth to see what's available and at what price. We could get a 3 bed detached house with a conservatory and nice little back garden for about £15,000 less than this 2 bed terrace we are in now.

My pals from the USA have gone to Carlisle today. I took my friend to see the castle and cathedral when she was last over and she loved them and wants to show them to her husband this trip. They are going on to see Hadrian's wall afterwards, never having heard of it until I told her all about it last time she was here and now she's fascinated with it.

I've recently developed a sore leg. I suspect it's from the fall I had in NYC a couple of years ago. It never felt like it completely healed. Of late though it's been paining me and .. well it's just not right so I am seeing a muscalar/skeletal specialist at the local hospital on Tuesday. I wasn't going to bother but Ruby has been at me to get it seen too as I need to be decent working condition to be of use to her in her recovery so I've bitten the bullet.

I have plantar fascitis as does Ruby and at least 2 of our friends. We all find it comes and goes. Steve must have done something serious that they can't do something to relieve it for up to 2 years.

I've had a jab in the bottom of my foot which was very ouchy but after a couple or so days of not being able to walk I was much improved. Now when I feel it coming on I do the stretching exercise the physio showed me.

I don't know if this would be any help to Steve as he obviously has a bad case but I got Ruby some slippers that are designed to reduce the symptoms and she has found that they work. They weren't that expensive either - under £20.

He has arthritis in his left ankle...he has had it since he was8, the podiatrist said she thinks it has been bought on because he has to take more weight on his right foot, I got him insoles and she has given him better ones today and steroid injection was mentioned and I have been trying to get him to agree, he has to go back next month so I will try to convince him to get the jab done before then

It's definitely worth it Griff. It does hurt for a few moments as it's administered and continues to ache for a day or two after, plus it's more difficult to walk on that foot but I was advised to sit with my foot up as much as possible for 2 or 3 days which I did. After the 3rd or 4th day I was good to go and it felt great! It's never been as bad as that first episode of plantar fascitis following the jab.

https://www.battersea.org.uk/battersea-welcomes-government%E2%80%99s-commitment-get-tough-animal-abusers

Battersea Dogs & Cats Home welcomes the Government’s determination to get tough on animal abusers, after DEFRA today published the results of their consultation into raising the maximum sentence for animal cruelty.

The Government’s plans to increase the maximum sentence to five years are a much-needed change that will save countless animals from becoming the innocent victims of abuse

Currently the maximum sentence for animal cruelty in England and Wales is the lowest in Europe at just six months. Today the Government has confirmed it will legislate to increase that to five years for serious offences........................

I will try to get him to do it...I just need to make him think it's his idea😂😂

Blackmagic...I don't even think that's enough, half the time all they do is ban from keeping animals for a piddly amount of time, I see awful cases coming through my vets

I always say this "they can bring in all the legislation they like but if it's not enforced it's useless" and that goes for anything. Look at the firework legislation. That's never enforced, people still let the bloody things off at all times of the night long after the legislation says it should end.

And yes I agree, the judiciary are sometimes lax with their sentencing of animal abusers. I tend to think that they are sort of person who have little regard for animals or their welfare so don't see it as a big deal.
