Temperatures have risen above freezing for the first time in days and that horrible icy wind has dropped. They haven't gritted our road as we're not a 'priority' and they're concentrating on the main roads. Fair enough but how am I meant to get to the flipping main road if you don't grit mine lol. Wouldn't mind but the gritter depot is at the bottom of my street! Good luck with the new fosters Jazz. How's it going with Luna's guarding issues? Yantan Posted March 4, 2018 Report Share Posted March 4, 2018 Sounds like the rescue need to do better assessments of the dogs before they let them out for foster. I know it's not easy to cover all the bases but surely checking to see how a dog is with other dogs is a basic. How were the introductions done at your house Jazz? I like the aqua too Suzeanna. Jazz Posted March 4, 2018 Author Report Share Posted March 4, 2018 they have to meet in my garden. my dogs are excited but know the drill. these dogs have lived with an elderly couple all their lives, not really socialised. yes it was a lot for them to take in, but every other dog has worked out that way, including this blind and deaf yorkie ive asked the rescue again if transport is being sorted out for the yorkie Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Not sure I mentioned but there now quite a few mini daxi;'s into the village of late, all wire haired like my Cliffy and mostly thanks to Cliffy too first there was Humphrey (who is sizeist) and kicks off with most (but not all) other big dogs before they have even seen him age 11 Than there was Archie (a rescue) and named after my (sadly gone) Archie who is my avatar to the left, mini Archie is 10 Now comes Rupert who belongs to the daughter of the people that have Humphrey and is just 1 years old, and worships the ground Cliffy and Humphrey walk on. If I am out alone Rupert pays me loads of attention, if I am out with Cliffy I get blanked completely, the little sod. Oh and speaking of Cliffy he had a 'Release the inner Wolf' moment the other day, all because I cut his fringe to keep it out of his eyes, if I can get it off my phone and onto the computer I will show you all, not sure how to though. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Do any of you remember, six years ago now I said that a company had put in for planning permission to opencast the fields behind our houses for coal? The local council said no, they appealed and council still said no. They took it up to county level, still knocked back. Their last ditch attempt was to go to the Government Inspectorate and try them. They'd been debating it for months and today, announced their decision, appeal refused!! Phew, at long last! Mind you, I'm not sure we can be too happy straight away, as the first time it got turned down the farmers who own the fields said what would you rather have, an opencast or an industrial estate, so they may have something else up their sleeves. The fields directly behind us are on quite a steep slope, so I don't really see how they could build anything on it but you never know. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I hope the government's relaxing of planning law doesn't help the owners/developers over the fields but that's regarding the building of homes afaik, rather than anything industrial. I hope everyone has water. Tesco delivered us some supplies yesterday and on Saturday the Hello Fresh box turned up! There are some areas of Cumbria still cut off. They helicoptered food and fuel supplies into them over the weekend. Around here the snow is all but gone and we are left with mud. Oh they've just mentioned the Cumbria airdrops on the BBC news. Your bloods weren't right last time, were they? That could account for the tiredness, and cold sores happen most when you are run down. Philip's first day at his new job, he went off like a little boy at first day at school, I'm sure I could hear his knees knocking! Jazz, I was thinking about those two little dogs..do they have to be fostered together? It's just if one is much more confident than the other, it may feel the need to protect its pal,and that's why it's going for dogs that are strangers to them? On the other hand, it could be the nervous one biting, get them before they get me, type of thing. If they were split up it might be better for both of them. Must have been typing at the same time as you, Yantan. We have water ok, I'd be surprised if they managed to get permission for more housing as there are several new builds going on already, but no infrastructure to support them!
