Sounds like things are going well Griff :)

Spent today by the pool and then headed to the beach. Just been dozing and reading my kindle. It's been really warm today. Moving on tomorrow - that's gonna be a bit of a mission, but I think that *should* be the worst journey out of the way. Am hoping for a bus that will take me most of the way. Gonna have to get a taxi to take me to the city and then figure out a bus from there. Sri Lanka was much easier to travel around!!!

Sounds wonderful Jayne, I do hope you can get to where you need to be easily

Things seem o.k but I find it hard to A: believe he is interested in me and b: I have serious trust issues so I don't believe he will stay with me so I am just always expecting him to tell me to sod off

Evening.

That's good to hear griff :flowers:

I currently have a very poorly baby collared dove in a cat carrier. I noticed him/her trying to eat the seed off the lawn outside, but could see his beak was constantly open. Anyway, it started peeing down and whilst the other birds flew off, he just stayed there, so I got him and brought him inside. He had lots of stuff stuck in his mouth/throat which had forced his beak open, so I got the tweezers out and pulled quite a bit out, then syringed some water down his throat to try and get him to swallow any bits. However, I can't see too far down his throat and I don't know how long it's been stuck there so it could be infected. I can't be sure how much is still stuck in there either. I've covered the carrier with a towel so he can have some peace and quiet and will have a look to see how he is later, bless him.

Not born under the sign of Cancer, are you Griff? I don't believe in astrology, but that's what they say about Cancerians...hard shell, soft inside!

I went to the little hospital this morning, and was in and out very quickly for my blood test. Makes you wonder why it takes so ruddy long to be seen at the doctors. We've got an appointment on Saturday with the vet for Rosie..he said when she had her boosters that she has a stonking heart murmur, but it's the mitral valve so nothing to worry about. However, she's now showing signs of heart failure. Three of our poms had it, so I do know the signs...rapid noisy breathing, lost appetite, keeps tucking herself away in odd corners etc. I'm waiting until Saturday because the head vet is on then, he knows her well and also he's the heart specialist. Obviously if she goes downhill quickly I'll try to get her in before that. Just hoping it's treatable, I keep remembering our GSD Jazz. He started wetting in the house, so we took him to the vet thinking it was a bladder infection, but it turned out to be his heart. They gave him tablets, we took him back after a week for a check up and she said his heart sounded a lot better. He died in his sleep the next day!

Hope your little patient recovers, Alex.
