Aprils Any Antics

Well done Gooster with the eye. I am mega wimp and can't cope with eye stuff. My optician showed me a photo of my eye and I got upset and told him to take it away quick. He was very understanding and said quite a few people can't look at things like that.

Moaning :tired:

Timmy is going back to have his scan re-done today with our vet Anna. She's going off on leave for 9 months so we'll miss her and if he does need any treatment or anything we'll have to see a different vet. I don't particularly like the other vets.

Very sensible to ask, Gooster. I can't think why my optician didn't, as he knows that many people are squeamish about eyes. Maybe he forgot.

I have to remember to ask before showing visitors my gorgeous 11 year old giant African land snail. Some people do not appreciate the 8" shell let alone the muscular 13" body and fascinating squidgy face. Don't know why they are worried. They can easily outrun him/her.

Hope Timmy's scan is clear.

Owl, my friend got some land snails last year...sheldon and boris Lol

I am fine with eyes cuts etc

Melredogs, good luck for Timmy today, hope all is well and i hope he doesn't need any treatment so you don't have to deal with the other vets, i am the same with conor, he has to tell me when he is going on holiday Lol...i don't like the other partner who is a skin specialist...that grudge goes back 22 years lol and the other one is o.k, very kind but she isn't "my" vet

Right guys I'm going in for my surgery tomorrow (provided theres a bed for me) I seriously doubt I'll be online after today until at least Thursday and even then thats a wait n see thing. Apparently they have got rid of all the over the bed entertainment systems in favour of hospital based free wifi so I will be borrowing Robs HUDL and I'll have my phone but I'm told that the signal in the hospital is not brilliant on some wards so I won't know until I try if I'll even be able to get online. Sods law is already in effect as I am no longer 3 weeks late *sigh* sids kicking my arse to let me know hes still there and not happy and I cannot take any pain killers so close to having anesthesia. Scared stiff but just want to get it over with now.

We have greengrocer and butcher and 2 traditional ironmongers. Plus ASDA and Aldi and a budget food shop.

Gas engineer has been to inspect the system. I was right not to turn on the gas fire in the lounge, it is unsafe. I am digging into backup funds and having a new system, as present one is very old with no thermostats and no control over water temperature. The whole system has 2 settings, on=boiling hot, and off. I reckon I will get my money back over the next few years in fuel saved.

Hope you get the bed Snow..there's nothing worse than getting all keyed up for an op and then it's called off. You will feel so much better once it's out, and you'll have the summer (assuming we get one!) to recoup and get back to normal.

I should get our gas fire checked I suppose. We had it installed when we moved in here..nearly 13 years ago..and never had it serviced. We don't have thermostats on our radiators either. Hope it doesn't cost you too much, Owl.

Good luck with Timmy's scan Alex.
