KateG@ESSW
Scooby @ ESSW Age: 4 1/2 years Sex: Male Location: Bristol Can be re-homed with children: No Can be re-homed with cats: No Can be re-homed with dogs: Yes (see below) Neutered: Yes Vaccinated: Puppy Vacs only Microchipped: No Tail: Half dock Scooby has come to ESSW through no fault of his own, his mum has made the hard decision to part with him because she felt she wasn't able to give him the time and attention he deserves. Because of this he has put on lots of weight and needs a home that can commit to his weight loss programme as well as gently increasing his exercise levels to get him back to his ideal size. He is best re-homed without cats, as he tends to chase, and also where children are older sensible teenagers who are used to dogs. As he has lacked continued training an experienced doggy home would be great. Scooby can show some aggression when approached by new people for the first time but we are sure this is just fear based, he responds really well if ignored and left to approach you as this seems to give him more confidence. His foster family are working on this and he is coming along well. He is a huge cuddle monster with his foster mum and dad too and gets on really well with their two resident bitches, so we think a home with resident female dogs would be good for Scooby to enable him to continue his socialisation. Scooby loves being brushed and adores swimming! He responds well to training using a tennis ball as a reward. If you think you can give Scooby a home, please complete the registration form at www.englishspringerspanielwelfare.co.uk and contact the local co-ordinator.
