Manuka Honey

Flo scratched an itchy spot on her face and it has become infected. It's still itchy so she's still scratching and opening it up again. Como is licking it if he's not watched and stopped. She has antibiotics and the vet says it will scab over in a couple of days but it looks awful - almost like a burn. Presumably as she is still scratching the wound it is like a friction burn.

I was wondering if Manuka honey would help. Has anyone used it for wounds. If so is there a best kind of honey, a particular way to use it or any other advice?

Have you got any grapefruit seed extract because that is what I would use. Diluted in a little water and gently dabbed over the area two or three times a day, it will take down any inflammation and also help with the infection as it has an excellent anti-bacterial action.

I used this on Chloe's tail when she got a horribly infected insect bite from her travels last summer, it cleared up beautifully within 3 or 4 days and all the fur grew back perfectly.
