ClazUK
My contribution is, I can't afford to get my garden done The hard landscape blokey wants £2500 for his bit (2 other quotes came in around £4k) and I really can't imagine when I'll be flush enough to get it started. Meh. Please post your better gardening news.
BOB
My contribution is, I can't afford to get my garden done The hard landscape blokey wants £2500 for his bit (2 other quotes came in around £4k) and I really can't imagine when I'll be flush enough to get it started. Meh. Please post your better gardening news. We couldn't afford any help either so we are still work in progress - 4 years on. This year's projects are completing the pond and pergola over it, planting a hedge to replace a few trees that we have lost over the last couple of years, maintaining what we have completed so far and starting on the veg patch and greenhouse again. Not much going on there then - I don't have time to go to work!
dirtychicken
My garden is going to be my "project" for this year, but in reality there's not an awful lot that I need to do. At the moment the bulk of the lawn is temporarily fenced off so that needs grass seed putting down before the fencing comes down in the spring. The end/separated bit of the lawn (aka Plantain City) is going to get dug out and I'm going to lay paving slabs and either gravel or bark down there and, hopefully, move most of my pots to that area. I am planning on paying somebody to come in and do the digging up bit as my efforts so far have been feeble and made little difference The small grassed area that the dogs currently have access to will be fenced off once the main lawn is opened up again and then it can have some tlc before being made accessible again. The only other thing that *really* needs doing in the garden is that I need to persuade my landlord to get me a new side gate I then just have decoration type stuff to put up - some lovely candle holder things, some wicker trellis (which needs to go up once my dad has run electric out to the shed) and I'd like to put an outside light up out there. As to when/if this lot gets done, watch this space
Yantan
I am going in for veggies this year. I have bought some pvc sack things to plant up in and am planning on spuds, carrots, broccoli and beans. I can place the containers on the flagstones and then we still have the borders for plants and flowers. I just need to find a way to keep the dogs from piddling on me produce
Abby
I yam planning our garden at the moment! I have done a measured plan and decided what feature I want, and am now plotting and scheming about plants. It will be a challenge because it's actually a fibreglass (ie weak) roof terrace so I have to be careful with weight, it doesn't have great water run off, and I am skint so will be begging and stealing plants. Gonna have fun doing it though

Trallwm farm
This year the polytunnels going up so we can be self sufficient. Dibs will need counseling as she is still traumatised by the discovery that potatoes come from big tractor tyres filled with black compost. She thought M@S was a farm in Israel. We already do our own alcohol ( no counceling needed there eh Dibs ) and I hope to go back to our own cheese making. But I may find that real life comes crashing in yet again so If I get as far as the poly tunnel I will be very chuffed.
cycas
Ooooh, I really fancy doing cheesemaking! One day... This year I'm going to try to get some raised beds in and at least grow enough curly kale that I'm not buying it in plastic bags from the Coop for Ash Bunny. I quite fancy growing leeks as well, because they are stupidly expensive as vegetables go. Admittedly, that might be because they are difficult. I don't know. I have never grown leeks before.... Trallwm farm
My cammelia which usually flowers for christmas day still hasn't flowered My snow drops are missing. I wonder if its the weather or Owls hamsters are on the loose
celeste
My snowdrops are just sticking their heads above ground. I don't think there will be much gardening going on round mine once I get my hens, but hopefully they will keep the weeds down , any thing I want to raise from seed will have to go in tubs to keep them safe. I just noticed yesterday we have Long Tailed Tits in our garden, they are incredibly cute
Wendbert
There is nothing of interest going on in my garden. The temporary fence is still up so the dogs can only get on the patio and as it rained last night, the lawn is flooded again
