I helped to re-home Joe a couple of years ago and have seen him a couple of time when I have been to Norfolk and such a lovely happy boy. He had one of his back legs amputated because of a tumour 6 months ago. He was fine running around on 3 legs and recovered well. He has now developed a sore on his other back foot about the size of a 50p piece. The couple who own Joe have been to specialists and they say nothing can be done now for Joe and to take him home. Joe is now very depressed as he cant walk comfortably as this foot is hurting him. Iam sending him Reiki and I hope to have a picture of him tomorrow. I spoke to Joe's owners yesterday who say that Joe's remaining back leg is so sore and all they have is an antiseptic wash to clean this foot and then a dressing on it. I cant understand why they haven't been given anything to try and heal this wound and I have recommended a homeopathic vet to them who they are phoning today. I think the vet's have just given up and in view of the fact he has only one back leg they have been told he will have to be pts if this leg gets any worse. I've used a Mikki (I think it was) boot before which was pretty good at staying on - possibly not for tearing around but at least maybe to give it a chance to heal? Ange, that would be great to put Joe on the Reiki list as his owners are very grateful for any help at all. His owners have had a boot made for him but it seems to put more pressure on his foot so they put his dressing on everyday and a thick baby sock on top, he did have a little walk yesterday and they say he never complains but when his dressing was changed, the sore was weeping a lot. I think the problem is that because he cant exercise, he has put on weight which is not good anyway for the other back leg. I will update as soon as I hear any news and please keep the Reiki coming. I took Joe's picture to bed with me last night and sent loads of Reiki and his owners said he had a very peaceful night. Iam hoping that the Reiki everyone is sending him is helping. Thanks again. I have already talked about this to Joe's owners and I think it would be great to get the pressure of that sore foot for a while. I will be going to see Joe when I get down to Norfolk and I would love to do some hands on Reiki for him. I just hope this wound doesn't get infected as the poor boy has no chance. Last night Joe came into the lounge for the first time for weeks. They live in a bungalow and normally at night he takes himself off into the bedroom otherwise Meg wants to play and keeps boinging about and I think he is worried about his sore leg. He lay in the lounge until bedtime quite happily wagging his tail so I think the Reiki is definately helping. Please everyone keep sending Reiki and healing thoughts for Joe.
