whitetiger
I havent been round much lately, there seems to be so much poo in our lives atm. Firstly my sister decided she didnt want to pay for dog food and vets bills anymore for Bunty, leaving me to pick up the tab! Bunty has lived with us for nearly 4yrs after my sister had her a few months and decided actually she couldnt be bothered so she came here with the agreement she would still be her dog and she would pay out any bills.... So after that bombshell and me catching up with bills we decided to have a few weeks out from fostering... A month ago Dene started passing out, he spent a few days in hosp on ECG etc but they found nowt, mind you I dont think they could be bothered! discharged him and said no driving or work for a month... he was due to go back to work last week but it started again! luckly he had one episode at our doctors and they saw it for themselves, they have said it looks like Eplepsy, gave him some pills, fingers crossed he has not passed out for a week now...still no work, no driving again..he has a hosp app for next mth to see Eplepsy specialist to start further tests..EEG, cat scan etc... So it looks like no work for a couple of mths still, and possible no driving for at least a year..to him you might as well chop his legs off As you can imagine money is a bad subject atm, £72.55 a week sick pay is a joke got app with bank manager Weds to see what we can do about the mortgage..no insurance so not looking good. Anyway thought id best pop in and say we havent dropped off the planet and I spose things could be a hell of a lot worse and for someone out there it prob is, hope everyone here and their four legged friends are ok Debs x

chasta
Debs Sorry to hear this, hopefully Dene is on the mend. We had similar problems with the mortgage when OH was made redundant, no insurance etc. Our mortgage co has given us a years 'holiday'. We dont pay the mortgage at all for a year, the interest is added on, and we have to make sure our life insurance on it is paid, but that it. Gave us the breathing space we needed, thats for sure. Maybe your company has a similar scheme?? Anyway, best wishes from us
cycas
Oh Debs, what a pain. I know just what you mean about might as well cut his legs off: when Mark was diagnosed with epilepsy we had the same thing: it was bad enough that he lost his job over it but he found it so depressing to be dependent on me for driving everywhere as well. With a bit of luck they will at least be able to control it with medication once it's diagnosed.

I'm very sorry to hear you and Dene are having such a tough time. I hope you turn the corner soon.

Clint
A big to you and your family. One of my ex managers suffered with epilespy for years and years but with the right medication he had no more attacs and eventually managed to pass his driving test (knowing what Eric was like I am not sure it was a good thing ). cycas
Just a thought, but is it worth Dene talking to his employer to see if he can do something that wouldn't put anyone at risk if he had a seizure temporarily? Or does he do something that requires him to drive. http://www.epilepsy.org.uk/ is a good website which has useful info on employment status and driving. whitetiger
Thanks everyone The problem with work is its an engineering company making dies, he operates machines, lugs around heavy metal and drives a forklift, there isnt really any other work to do there but that, work insurance wise he might put others at risk I guess till the quacks are sure they have the right diognosis and meds to control it so he cant go back till doctor says. Thanks for the link If the bank cant give us time out then we will just have to tell them that we cant do owt else but hand in his notice and go on the dole then just hope once its all sorted that his job is still there for him, its only a small factory. Just have to wait till tomorrow and see what the abbey say.

I hope things will pick up for you sooner than you think but in the meantime I'm not sure why you think the dole might be a better option than the sick. If you are assuming they would then pay the mortgage do check carefully before you take that step - I think you'll find you would be on your own for some months before they started paying the interest. How reasonable they are I cant say but I think you'll find the bank will have to give you some leeway whether they like it or not - obtaining possession takes time even when it comes to that stage. You may find this site will give you some useful information before you see them http://england.shelter.org.uk/home/index.c...etcountry/true/ Good luck.
