daunting
Does anyone know where countries in Europe stand on BSL, i have been looking but most of what i found is very outdated, as far back as 1998 ! But nothing more recently. And some say that BSL was discarded then
staffymad
Germany has still BSL laws in place and is constantly updating those. Unfortunately all the sites I get are in german - http://www.tierrechte.de/p200080004000x1018.html http://www.recht-niedersachsen.de/21011/nhundg.htm http://www.vergleichen-und-sparen.de/hunde-hamburg.html http://hunde.yellopet.de/Hundehaltung_Erzi...erordnungen.htm http://www.hundeinnot.com/ http://ksgemeinde.de/ http://www.hund-und-halter.de/ I am sure if you email any of those sites they will happy give you information. BSL is very much a day to day in Germany and many other countries in Europe Cindy
daunting
would it be standard throughout Europe or does each country have its own legislation ? thanks for the links - i think there is a site which can translate all that
ReikiAnge
would it be standard throughout Europe or does each country have its own legislation ? It's not standard throughout Europe. I can't find the page I was looking for on France's "dangerous dogs" list, but this one does provide some info for the country.
staffymad
It is not standard and in Germany each county has breed specific legislations to its own county. So if you pass a character test in county X it is only valid for that county Cindy
daunting
hadn't thought of that - so travelling with a dog that isn't banned in one country would be impossible to take to another. Thanks Cindy

Thanks Cindy As part of the pet passport scheme with DEFRA they should be able to advise you clearly where you can and can't travel to. Also, some BSL legislations are not outright bans but things like keeping your dog muzzled and on the lead in the public. Some countries allow you to travel through. Hope this helps Cindy
kola
you can also try contacting the british embassy in the country you need info on, we once wrote to all of them in europe and many were very helpful and found out, laws/restrictions vary from country to country amanda
