Wanda had the physio today and she is 100%! :elefant:

Because of the arthritis in her pasterns she will not be jumping anymore, it's mild and has responded well to the steroid but there is no point in putting pressure on the joint when there is no real need to. She can be a poncy dressage horsey now, I'll have to find a way to convince her it's fun though. :)

Banner and Lilli are naughty, they waited until Kim was being lunged for the physio and then came whooping and yelling at a flat gallop to the gate. They had of course to belt up the side of the arena instead of going straight across the field, cue Kim passaging and prancing with her tail over her back and snorting like a dragon. Little horrors!

Ouch Gooster that is an expensive day

Don't think we got placed by the sounds of it, it was a very hot class towards the end with someone getting 80% Very happy with our PB anyway

Norty ponies

Thats fantastic news about Wanda :flowers:

Some not so great news for us is that we have concerns Loki is still struggling with breathing. I can't say I have ever felt 100% that he was totally back to himself even though he has been working happily and well. I had agreed with the vets that we would treat it as him being unfit but by now he should be able to cope with things better than he is.

My vet wanted to send him back to Liphook but I have said for me thats not an option so he is going to speak to the specialist and get an idea of what tests to do at this point, think he is leaning towards taking lung samples again as he feels he is now showing signs of lung damage.

Nothing really changes, he will stay in work but the tests start again and hopefully we will get some answers this time.

I know what you mean Grace. I just don't know where my money goes

Hope you get an answer for Loki soon :flowers:

My farrier was an hour and a half late yesterday, so I decided to put blue on the horsewalker. Cue much amusement from me and the yard owner. When you switch it on, it goes quite fast, then slows down a bit, so when I first put him in it, he was plodding along sniffing and trying to eat the weeds in the middle. Then it smacked him up the bum, so he shot forwards  He was really good though once he got the hang of it. When I stopped to change direction, he turned around to face the other way

Here are some pictures of Billy, not very good I'm afraid as I couldn't get far enough away from him in the stable and he was rather muddy too! He is 7 years old, I'm not sure how tall but not more than 14hh I would think. He is a lovely ride though and responds very well to the leg aids.

I had a jumping lesson on Max today in preparation for the clear round jumping on Sunday and didn't feel I did too well, had a job to keep up the impulsion between jumps. Hope it's better on Sunday.

I thought you'd like him PW

Well I've been all pro active and sent off my membership form to join my local riding club and have already booked on to a jumping clinic and dressage clinic in December and am working on doing a xc clinic at twesledown, just trying to sort transport.

Milo been trotting this week, am hoping to have a canter either Sunday or Monday and I'm praying he's ok. By then it would be 2 weeks he's been rested so am hoping that's enough. Please send positive vibes!

Clare, really hope the vets get to the bottom of it this time so you can get some answers :flowers:

Well done Clare and Loki, hope you get to the bottom of his poorliness soon :GroupHug:

Glad Wanda is 100%

Lessons this week on Magic, bit of jumping and flatwork, t’was fun. Three lessons next week

Bought a pair of Cavallo breeches on ebay, not sure if they will fit or not but will stick them back on to sell if they don’t. Anyone got a pair, how to they fit sizewise  Saw nice pair of striped Pikeur breeches too, might stick a bid on them too.

PW Billy was used as a driving pony I believe, with his previous owners. I'm not sure if his owners know how lucky they are, two sisters about 11 and 13 and Mum had no knowledge of horses by her own admission. Repeat .......I am not jealous......

I hope Loki is better soon :flowers:

Horse owning (and riding) is an expensive hobby isn't it?

Horses are money pits but as Wanda says 'I'm worth it!'

Banner is a naughty pony again, she has pinched Sam's 3 year old and they are joined at the hip. Unfortunately they won't come in at night, they are too busy staring into each others eyes or grazing nose to nose. Finn is 15.1 to Banner's 34", they look so funny together. It is upsetting special needs baby Lilli though, she wants her mum back and wails miserably when mum won't come in.

I just have to tell you all about my superstar cob today

This week ive been really stretched for time and havnt ridden since Wednesday but was absoloutely determined to ride today to continue on our walk/trot mission before introducing canter again on Monday. Bearing in mind he hadnt been ridden in 2 days I was absoloutely prepared for Milo to be a tanking, heavy git wanting to go go go.

Almost as soon as I asked him to walk on he was chomping and playing with the bit and rounded really nicely onto the bit (which is good for him - hes only just learning to stay in an outline in walk) and did some lovely halt/walk transitions without shooting off or getting excited, so I knew I was in for a good session by then! Anyway we moved up into trot and I have never had him feel so good. He was completely uphill, completely working through and over his back and compltely light and supple in front. He maintained the outline through halt/walk/trot 99% of the time and his rhythm in trot was unbreakable, even whilst bending on a circle. I did his usual lateral stuff, leg yield, shoulder in, and even had a go at doing shoulder in down the centre line before doing a few straight steps then changing direction which he managed in walk and trot

This all happened with a horse on the horse walker next door, people pulling up in the car park and unloading their horses, and a few fireworks going off in the distance

As if that wasnt enough, the lady who owns the horse in the stable next door to Milo looked surprised when I tied Milo up outside his stable after our session. She said "OH! Was that YOU in the school a minute ago?! I thought it was some dressage person who had come to hire the school - I literally didnt recognise Milo at all - he looks fantastic!"   I cried

If he's still broken on Monday when we canter I will be so mortified
