  1. Try Advocate

Advocate is a broad spectrum combination treatment, effective against fleas, flea larvae, roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, heartworms and Sarcoptic mange, ear and Demodex mites.

Advocate gives you proven flea and flea larvae control as well as effective control of intestinal nematodes, heartworm and mites.

Also we've been using a teatree and aloe vera spray on Izzy's flea allergy to help soothe things. It's called Johnsons Tea Tree Skin Calm

  2. I bought this from a charity shop a couple of days ago. It's written by Bruce Fogle with foreword by Wendy Richard.

Apparently Wendy Richard is a fan of greyhound racing  according to the foreword and Bruce says that he would not recommend a pitbull as a family pet!!!!

Me thinks that both of them are arses!

  3. We went to PAH and tried all the harnesses but Moses is so strong! On the gentle lead we can walk him one handed, even the kids could walk him if we let them but even my OH who is really strong had trouble controlling Mo on a harness :(

  4. I have 9

Vader - Anatolian Shepherd - 2 yrs old

Poppy -Blenheim Cavalier - 2 yrs old

Red - Red Fox Labrador - 2 yrs old

Jim - Black and Tan Cavalier - 11+ yrs old

Ricky - Tri Colour Cavalier - 7 yrs old

    Ollie - JR/Staffy/Collie - 2 yrs old

Harry - Orange Roan Working Cocker - 3/4 yrs old

    Gypsy - W/Cocker x Collie - 1 yr old

    Moses - ABD - 1 yr old

All are rescues apart from Poppy who we bought from a breeder when we weren't as knowledgable about rescue dogs and thought that no-one who rehome a dog to us as we had a baby under 18 months old. :)

  5. Allie you are doing an amazing job with these babies - I'm absolutely in awe of you :flowers:

Sarah and I use gentle leaders on our bulldozers which seem to work better for us than harnesses. Moses isn't 100% happy with them though so I might try the PAH harness.

  6. Sarah has tried so, so hard to help Bailey. He is such a very lovely dog but he can make you scream and cry because there is just no helping him. Sarah and her children have broken their hearts making this decision. They have tried EVERYTHING to help him but nothing works. We've seen for ourselves how much he is loved and how much he loves them but I think that the right decision has been made for everyone. :flowers:

Sarah - I'm so proud of you for making this decision and for being brave enough to post it. You and your family are wonderful people and I love you all very much.

  7. I have 9 dogs, 4 cats and 3 hamsters.

I know that I have reached my limit of permanent residents. Although I get very tempted we will not adopt anymore dogs until some of ours have passed to the Bridge. All are very much loved and cared for. Yes, we are a busy house but they are part of the family. We're very lucky to live in a large 3 bed semi with huge gardens and the beach only 5 minutes away.

I know of other people who have nearly 20 dogs and they have far too many dogs. They have to rely on other people to help them all the time. I think for some people, dogs become a collectors item like stamps or beanie babies. I don't doubt these people love their pets but IMO their animals are losing out. These people get a puppy in when it's cute and then rehome it when it becomes a teenager  and then replace it with another dog but still can't see that they are doing anything wrong!
