  1. Thanks for voting for Jack Karen, I know what you mean about that picture,
  2. Thank you x JAck has no chance of winning now, so don't worry about voting I think weeks of voting is way too much. Sorry you havn't got your car yet and hope Martyn feels better soon. Here's the linky for Cherry for you https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150977032224470&set=a.10150977031374470.451331.70714279469&type=1&theater
  3. Well, what a month! Couldn't get to the lotty much because of the heavy rain, so when we did eventually go, the weeds had taken over and lots of the cabbages etc had been waterlogged. It was very disheartening, as i still had plants to go in that were weeks behind, on top of which, something had eaten the tops off my shallots and french beans! Turns out to be rabbits, pesky varmints. Oh, nearly forgot that something had been munching away at my cabbages too. The peas I sowed direct didn't show, so probably the mice had them. Anyway, I have done a bit here and there, and Keith helped a little yesterday, so many bags of weeds later, it is looking a bit better. There's still a lot to be done though, and I am worried about the ground getting waterlogged in places. I have now planted out all the beetroot, and some spare broccolli and cabbage. I actually saw the rabbit today! It ran like the wind, straight through a tiny gap in the fence to the next plot which is overgrown and piled high with rubbish. At home, a cucumber has committed suicide, so I now have three left. Everything else doing ok for now. How's everyone else? Fingers crossed my plants stay safe, but I doubt it. Time will tell. Here's a pic from today, the view from my seat
  4. WTG dove! Well, i have just spent about three hours on the lotty. Got a bit carried away, weeding and planting out the few reserve plants i had left. There are still some more to go in, but they will have to wait till the weather is good and I have more energy. I saw the enemy and it was rabbit shaped! Ran away as fast as lightening and disappeared through the tiniest of holes in the fence. Our next door neighbours plot has rubbish galore in it and we have already seen rats there. He gets warning after warning, but still doesn't get kicked out.
  5. Glad you are feeling better Owl, but what a day you had! For those of you on Facebook, Here's the linky to vote for Cherry. Only one vote, then the winner will be announced in two weeks time. There is a link under her picture that will take you to the voting page. It's not a "like" contest this time. https://www.facebook...&type=3
  6. Will do, they are uploading the 20 finalist pics to an album, so should be accessible after 12pm. i saw some other dogs I recognised among the entries, so wonder if they also got through.
  7. I think it's typical of this country, that we are out of pocket for these events, even though it is a great money earner for the organisers etc. They are certainly not games for the people. I hope Ruby enjoys the experience. I think there are too many events wanting my attention this year, jubilee, Euro, Olympics, wimbledon.....The torch passes by my office next Monday and the roads will be shut for hours, just when people need to get to work. It will be gridlocked! I will have to go to work at about 6am if I want to get in!
  8. sorry you've had a wasted weekend Amy. Hope MArtyn had a good time and that you do get the car back. Mmmmm Marion, I bet those treats go down well. Morning all. I had today off to get back to normal and catch up after the camping weekend. Didn't go camping, so no unpacking/washing/shopping to catch up on. I have instead, been catching up on admin type stuff and booked to take Cherry for her booster. Thank you for your continued votes for Jack, I have looked at the votes and he has no chance of catching the leaders with 1000+ votes! However, i did not want him to be last, so i am still voting. Just had an email to say that a picture of Cherry I entered in the Dogstar competition has beat hundreds of entries to get to the final 20!!! Voting takes two weeks from 12pm today and is only via Faceboook, so I know that rules a lot of people out. At least I know this is definitely a good cause, and how fab to be chosen in Cherry's gotcha week too! :cheer:
  9. Good luck with the knitting MAry. Hope your bug is going Owl Yay for Josh Hope you feel better today Alex, well done for braving the field. Morning all, slept very well after our hill walk yesterday. It was dry but VERY windy! Lots to do today, but can't decide what to do first.
  10. Such sad news about Kip GEnjoy your afternoon Alex Glad you made it Mary! Shame about the claim Owl, especially as so much time has passed. Have a good trip Sandra have some more quality time at home Michelle Sorry if I've missed anyone out. x we will be heading off to Burton Dassett hills shortly, to get a bit of training in for our fundraising hike in July.
  11. Thinking of you both at this anniversary.
  12. Morning. Cancelled the B&B as it hasn't stopped raining here since last night. We will still go for the day tomorrow, if anyone is there. Had poached egg on toast for brekkie and off to pay bills later. Tis very dark here, so I need to get motivated. Hope you improve soon Alex x What a lovely surprise Marion.
  13. Thanks Michelle and MArion and everyone who is voting. (hope I haven't missed anyone) linky http://petchampions.hugyourpet.co.uk/category/water-sports/view/107 Michelle, I hope your sister doesn't drive you potty, and that your BIL is made as comfortable as possible. Did you find a cottage for your hols? How annoying aboput the car!
  14. Thank you so much for all the votes for Jack.he made the shortlist, so continued votes are very welcome. I thought they would zero the votes after the shortlist, but they haven't, but he can still make third in his class if there's enough votes. Glad you got your bonus Alex, and hope you feel better now. happy holidays Eve and Suzeanna Fingers crossed for Martyn Hope you get your new boiler soon Owl Hope you can still make the camping Amy, but if not, let us know and we will cancel our B&B finished work now till Tuesday, it's been a hard week and next week looks about the same! Glad my anniversaries have passed and I can start to feel better. (Sister's anniversary Monday and Dad's yesterday) Managed to go to the allotment last night, but there is so much weeding to do because of all the rain, it will take a very long time to get it back to how it should be.
  15. Hope it clears up quickly. We're not allowed headphones either, would certainly help drown out the talkers! Last night I threw Jack's ball into the kitchen and he went to "fetch" it. He kept coming back and forth seemingly "looking" for it. I got up to go and help him find it, in case it had gone under a unit or something. Jack followed behind me while I checked under every chair, under the table, in the cupboard and under the units. I went back into the living room, Jack still behind me, and I said to Keith I didn't know where it had got to. Keith said, what's that in his mouth? You've guessed it, Jack had it in his mouth the whole time! D'oh, how dumb am i?
  16. I have had one glass of wine and it's gone straight to my head!
  17. Glad you found your conservatory Sandra. Owl, your upstairs sounds like mine! Wet and miserable here, been shopping for waterproof leggings and bedding.
  18. Thanks Marion, I vote for others too. I'm not quite sure how the leaders have SO many votes, must be publicised elsewhere. Hope the field situation gets sorted Alex sweet little dogs Jazz Back from the hairdressers, wasn't too long today and quite happy with my hair this time. Weather is a bit pants now though, so no allotment today. I'm still tired, but my lips are healing slowly, (coldsores). Onwards and upwards.
  19. Well done Michelle. Thanks for the votes for jack everyone. I am at the hairdresser's yawn, still tired!
  20. Evening all Sorry about all the poorly cars and people and pets. Hope you all feel better soon, and fingers crossed lost jobs won't be your OH's. x Marion, i shall have a toast to Georgie tonight. I had half a day today, as I will be in the hairdressers most of tomorrow (they are so slow! ) trouble is, i am not feeling well, so apart from shopping, i haven't got much done at all. i have a couple of anniversaries myself next week, and although there is a lot to look forward to next week, I can't help feeling a bit down leading up to monday and Wednesday. Can I ask a favour please? Would you mind, if you want to and have a few moments spare, please voting for Jack? Here http://petchampions....r=vote&start=10 You do have to register, but only the starred boxes need to be completed. He needs to be in the top ten to be in with a chance and he has slipped down. He is in the water sports category (videos). You can vote every day and it ends Monday. You can check by most voted to make it easier than trawling through them all.
  21. I have enough left to make it again tomorrow, so speak up if you want some.
  22. So sorry you have lost both of your dogs. Sleep tight Tara and Thor. xxx
  23. oooh, jack has connections in Connecticut! Fab Yes Mary, he did lead on the bridge, and funny enough, Cherry didn't barge past him!
