  1. It's a horrible feeling when that happens. Let's hope they let you in and don't just expect you to take the dog out of the garden They really can't be bothered can they? Hope it all goes well despite them.
  2. ClazukI've just had a call from a lady who has had a fall, needs to get rid of her 9 year old greyhound bitch in the next 48 hours. "Oooh, nice oldie, housetrained" thinks I. No, it's been in a kennel in the garden all its life You know where it's going to end up, don't you? ...... I hope she finds a nice warm fireside to sleep by soon It gives me the creeps! and to anyone else who needs them. Well, I have been to work this morning and am now feeling totally I seem to have forgotten how to do the simplest things. Had to phone the IT dept to log on, and then had 1498 emails to look at. The last zillion were automated, telling me my inbox was full! Anyway, that's over with so I can try to seriously catch up tomorrow. Thanks everyone for your support
  3. Morning all. It's my first day back at work today since being off sick. I haven't been there since Jan 31st! I am a little bit nervous, but at least they are letting me do half days this week so I will be back home at lunchtime.
  4. Why not have bacon sarnie, then walk, and then another bacon sarnie. Problem solved. This is what I would do, as I'm very indecisive
  5. Don't you mean a Hotpoint "Lurcher ? Surely that can get transport.
  6. I now have my computer back from the menders. How big and light everything looks after two weeks of using an eight year old laptop. And I have a mouse instead of a matchstick thing to point with. I can also surf to my heart's content without having to use pay-as- you- go. Happy days.
  7. I hope everyone has a great time at Crufts and meet lots of other Refugees. I can't go this year so will be waiting for stories and pictures. Good luck for your op today Bert.
  8. Well done Sam, I'm glad you got what you wanted, and pleased about your nomination. You deserve it. What a difference a day makes!
  9. Happylittlegreensquirrel.I am thinking about my National Insurance stamps really , I doubt I would be eligible for un employment benefit would I ? but I would have to sign on at the very least to get my stamps You would be eligible for Jobseekers allowance, but any payout would be taken into account. They would work out how many weeks pay it is equilalent to and start paying once that time was up. You would need to sign on to enable your stamp to be paid. Good luck.
  10. I've tried to post the link but this old laptop won't allow it, cut and paste this instead. www.acas.co.uk I almost forgot this site too, http://www.dti.gov.uk/ER/redundancy/payments-pl808.htm I know how stressful it is and hope you get what you want, funny how the bosses don't give you all the info to make an informed choice isn't it?
  11. Hi Sam, I'm sorry you are having such a bad time at work. When my OH was told he was to be made redundant a few couple of weeks ago, we found the ACAS website very helpful as his employers didn't tell him anything about what his rights were. If you can't find the answer you need, there is a contacts page with phone numbers for their regional offices. Might be worth giving them a call. Am I allowed to post the link, or should I PM you?
  12. Sorry you're having such a bad time over this. I hope that your parent's support will keep you strong when you need to be.
  13. No, but if it breaks down it has a starting handle!
  14. My 'puter is broke! I've wasted half the morning trying to fix it and now it's at the menders. I've resurrected my 8yr old laptop, which has the equivalent power of a valve radio. I suppose it's better than nothing but it's so slow.
  15. Don't know if this has been posted before, but try it, there's some good results School photos
