  1. I'm so glad you all don't like mince pies, as there are none left now. LOL I didn't like them until I started making them this year and had a taste. Absolutely no contest with the shop ones, these are scrummy. (though I say so myself). Feels like Christmas now, just had a roast with all the trimmings while watching Miracle on 34th Street.
  2. Hmmm, 24 mince pies, fresh out of the oven, cooling to put in the freezer. Unfortunately, there are no longer 24, as we have been "tasting" them. At this rate we will be lucky if even 6 make it to the freezer. So much for saving time nearer Christmas!
  3. Morning all, lovely sunny frosty day here, but I am doing some baking and cooking today. Mince pies, lentil and veg soup, roast chicken. Yummy. I am also going to practice icing a small fruit cake, so I am ready when the time comes to ice the real christmas cake. I have finally been told I can have Christmas off, and have booked a small cottage near Robins hood bay for Christmas week. Snow, were those a kit, or did you make them up? They look good. Timmy is so sweet. Have a good Sunday everyone. xxx
  4. happy birthday Owl!!! :cheer:
  5. Thank you, it was just what we needed to perk us up, plenty of sunshine!
  6. We went for a great walk at Beacon Hill Country Park today. Sunshine all the way, so great views at he top. Lots of lovely Autumnal colours too. Jack & Cherry enjoyed themselves and are now snoozing. Jack in the woods Keith Jack & Cherry on a ridge me and Jack Jack having a good sniff of the air!

  9. Thank you Griff! I did feel a bit strange when I put it on the bench with everyone else's though. Even the scary ones were quite sweet. Mine was more hardcore halloween scary in comparison. LOL
  10. The cake was bought for our team to share, so it's half gone today We should know how much money the cakes raised for Macmillan cancer care soon.

  13. Roll on tomorrow!! Sounds like fun....I think ;) That is a ridiculous amount of money to be thrown away. Hope you feel better soon x Glad you didn't have to go and get the dog Claz, what a way to treat you though!
  14. Don't mind at all, I just made lots of plain sponge cakes. (one made in a pyrex bowl for the top of the skull). Sandwiched together with buttercream and jam and then carved to a skull shape. Grey fondant icing to line eye sockets and mouth/nose, then cover in buttercream. mixed with jam or red gel. Mix white and grey fondant, roll out and cut for bandages and cover cake. The eyeball is made of fondant and decorated with writing icing and food colouring. Red gel drips like "blood" and jelly squares cut up make a nice cut "brain" Have fun!
  15. I would have weed myself laughing while trying to help you up if I had been there. hope the hurty knee gets better soon WTG Molly!!!!! 17. Sorry about Dylan Suzeanna, it is sad to see a dog lose their sight, but Max and Jack do ok. The dogs seem to accept it easier than we do. Not keeping up here at all lately! sorry.. Belated happy anniversary Suzeanna hugs for Max I've been back to the vet's with jack this morning he has had nettle stings in his eye, causing a few problems over the last couple of week and had been getting over it well. Trouble is, he has somehow managed, even with a buster collar, to scratch his cornea again. I had to hold his head while Milly (the vet)swabbed his eyeball and cornea with an antibiotic cream with anaesthetic. good thing I'm not squeamish!! At least I will be able to monitor him 24/7 for the next few days, before he goes back on Tuesday.

I am feeling so much better today, after finally beating the lurgy. Hope it doesn't come back, it was pretty unpleasant, coldsores, bones aching, earache and headaches. I came home at four last night and went to sleep for a couple of hours, then had a really hot chilli, so I think I burnt it out!!
