  1. Yay! Have fun with it. Mine's temporarily out of the way of puppy teeth! But I'm itching to find some time to do some 'creating' with it. I only do basic stuff but have managed to make several pairs of curtains. It's just finding the time to really get to grips with it. I'd also like to have a go at turning tee-shirts into summer vests and that kinda thing. Maybe I'll get a chance to get mine going this week
  2. I'm very pleased with my Janome Sewist 525s which does all I will ever get round to doing with it and more if I ever get round to it lol! It was an upgrade from a basic Singer. It has actually been discontinued but is still a good model and you can still buy it new. http://www.sewingmachine-sales.co.uk/sewing-machine/janome/janome-525s-sewist-sewing-machine-94.html . Search around and I bet you would be able to get it quite cheap. I love it. Good luck ... Sandi
  3. ..... I meant to say too ... once you've applied these products onto the skin - that's it - it's in and cannot be removed - it is an insecticide - I never dreamt in a million years what has happened to us, would have happened - merrily thought it was safe. Of course Merial the company who manufacture the product are adamant it wasn't the Frontline Combo. On the other hand, ticks not only carry Lymes Disease but they also transmit other very nasty pathogens. We will never know which it was but no, never again ......!
  4. I have just lost my darling Glen to a suspected adverse reaction to Frontline Combo. He has had this product before with no problem, so never gave a thought to treating him with it as he had a tick on his eyelid and as it's the flea/mite season ....... I will never use a spot on product or similar on my dogs again. The price was too high ..... he was so ill and the siezures and the drooling were the stuff of a horror scene and I've already lived 5 years with Idiopathic epilepsy, but this was something else! .... He was pts at 12.30 pm on Friday 29 April 2011. I and my family and all who knew him are absolutely gutted and what a waste of a lovely lovely boy who should be at my feet now ........ If only I could turn the clock back .... Sandi
  5. OMG spent most of today trying to sort out FB!

  6. Sorry I should have clarified it a bit better Ignore the website as due to technical problems Carol can't get on to amend it. Anyone interested needs to ring Carole. The telephone number is: 01646 601923 and (unless they have now been snapped up) the dates available for Swallows Dance are 22/8/09 and 29/8/09 (which is the B/H weekend). Sandi
  7. If anyone is looking for some fab dog friendly accommodation here in Pembrokeshire then look no further as, due to a cancellation, Swallows Dance is available week commencing 22 August for 2 weeks. You need to ring Carole quickly though, before it goes! The phone number is on the website: http://www.littledumpledale.co.uk Sandi

    Orijen

Oh dear Dylan, he's such a dear boy Yeah, I know what you mean Vera I do have to be very strict with myself re portion size! My lot were on Burns before - I always soaked it and it just looked like they were eating sponge balls! (Or Maltesers! ) Whereas the Orijen, because it is a far denser food due to the high meat content, it doesn't expand like the Burns. My lot are always hungry, as as you know, huhummm probably err on the 'porky' side. That's also because they do the pre-wash with our washing up and OH has trained Lulu to take bits of food out of his mouth!!!! But I wont go into that! apart from to say he thinks that's a very clever trick and is very proud of their trick! Sandi
  9. I was told it can be due to an acidy tum - which would figure when you think of all the travelling and different water etc. If she can find a Holland and Barrett type shop, maybe see if she can get some tree bark powder (slippery elm) that would be suitable to give to dawgies. Sandi

    Orijen

Hiya I've been feeding all my 3 Orijen for nearly a year now and have no complaints. You do have to feed less though or else they can tend to get to be 'lardy-bots'!!! A 13.5 kg bag lasts me just over 3 weeks and feeds a border collie, rough collie and whippet/collie x - same as a 15 kg bag of Burns ........ Sandi
  11. Oh dear, one of those eh! Well, you can tell your grandson's if they are ever our way we would be more than delighted to see them - in fact any of you would be welcome (you must like dogs though!!! ) You can also tell them they have 3 4th cousins not so far away in Hemel! (my 3 lovely step-daughters ) who will love hearing they have some more relatives not too far away
  12. Oh my giddy-aunt! small world indeed! So, your 2 grandsons are my OH's 3rd cousins! My OH is Max and his dad was Ron Day! and oh my goodness he is sitting here now mentioning all the other Day names and now I'm getting all I've met Barry and I met Mollie (Colin's aunty) (sadly at a funeral !) a few years ago now. I know the Day family is quite, huhumm large in the area and OH says he has cousins he doesn't know!!! I only have 2! So are you a native to the area??? Feel free to transfer to pm ................. Sandi
  13. Yes! OH has many memories of helping his dad on the coal round and I've had the tour of where the coal yard used to be and of course all the tales of times gone by. Ironcially, we now live in a village in Pembrokeshire that provided the best anthracite in the world - in fact our house is built on top of a mine shaft - we're assured we're not about to disappear down a hole though! Yeah .... I miss our trips to London Colney and the nice grub served up at the Colney Fox!!! Sandi
  14. Oh Blimey - know LC quite well as it's OH's birth place - he was from Manor Road, so no where near the water, well I don't think it is? His family were the coal merchants (in case that's relevant to anyone?) Ha .... thought I'd add that useless bit of info .... Hee hee ... Sandi (again smilies wont work for me?)
