My old fella, Sam, came to us via The Oldies Club. We've been lucky enough to have his company for a year now and hope we will be priviledged to share his company for many more years to come. We heard about The Oldies Club from some people on our local freecycle - bestest freecycle post I ever read. Hopefully, if I've followed the instructions properly you should see a picture of my old boy.......well, both my old boys actually. Sam is the shorter of the two - and he has more hair. The taller balding one is his loving Dad (and also my long-suffering husband), wherever one is the other is not far behind. On saturday I was moaning about the lack of housework that had been done. "What have you done today?" I asked my husband in an exasperated tone. He scratched his head, thought for a minute and then smiled, 'I fought the dog for at least an hour!' he said.......Well, it's probably much more enjoyable than doing housework - and Sam enjoyed it as always....Thank You Oldies Club

What can I say? My bestest boy has gone. I stroked his head and said Goodbye. There'll never be another cat like you Cheeks. We will miss you so much. Thank you for being part of our lives.

Thank you for that - I will try all your suggestions. Didnt think of the fact I was confirming his problem by cuddling him - nor of the fact I could turn it all into a real issue re Darkness! I have Rescue Remedy so will use this too.

Any help/advice welcome please! My old staffie boy has been with us a year now. He came from The Oldies Club. He had 2 'accidents' after arriving - both my fault due to comming home late at lunchtime to let him do his business. Otherwise he has been as good as gold - until the fireworks started.... Since the w'end before 5th Nov (when the fireworks started round here) he has changed. He puts himself to bed early, slips his harness in an attempt to get home when having his evening walk & has wee'd in the house several days in a row (usually, but not always, when its starts to get dark). Today, when my husband got home (it was getting dark) he wee'd just as my hubby went to get his shoes on to take him out. He was really scared by the fireworks when they were going off - we had to cuddle him all evening and one of us stayed up in the bedroom with him. I wonder if he now associates darkness with fireworks? Can anyone help please? Otherwise he is well, no bowel probs and eating well like Staffies do. No diet changes or anything else different. Thanking you all in advance for you advice.

If you are looking for a cattery nr Swindon, Wiltshire then can I suggest Little Park cattery just outside of Wootton Bassett? I have always had someone come in and look after my extra special boy but after having this cattery recommended I thought I'd give it a try. I cannot recommend this one highly enough - fantastic place with lovely owner (Nichola) who really loves the cats. She has two lovely old dogs of her own and horses - a really friendly animal perfect place. My boy didnt seem to want to leave - I have booked him in for New Year and also next summer as I'm sure once the word spreads it will be difficult to get spaces.

All paid - and Paypal fees covered! Cant wait for my goodies to arrive.....Thanks to my winnings we are breaking with the traditional turkey and will be having Spam for Christmas Dinner....The kids think Im joking ....anyone know what you stuff a Roast Spam with????
