  1. Delly went to his new home tonight... he now has a person all to himself and a big house all to himself... The only other animals there are two rescued ex battery hens that looked to be in amazing condition. I'll be calling his new dad tomorrow to see how the first night went...gonna miss the big guy but it's best for everyone.
  2. Hi Rehoming from Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire. I rescued Delta in September 2008 when he was roughly three months old. He had been horrifically treated and was in appalling condition both mentally and physically. It didn't take long to sort out his physical problems but his mental scars took a lot more time. As time passed it became obvious that Delta was a very dominant cat - he was neutered very early in an attempt to calm him down and I decided to give him a few more months before making a decision. It is now over a year later and unfortunately I cannot get this boy to fit in properly with the other feline residents He is just not suited for a multicat household and is causing a lot of upset by bullying the other cats. I suspect he is from a Siamese x Bengal litter that was around at the time, but cannot be certain - he is a BIG and powerful cat, extremely loving towards people but cannot be with other cats. He is used to my Dobermann so may be ok with another cat friendly dog. The kind of home Delly is looking for would be one without children (he has never been around children so I will not home him to a home with them), no other cats - he doesn't mind being left to his own devices so it will be fine if his new people/person go out to work. It does need to be a home where he can go outside (once he's settled in of course) as I think one of the problems here is that the garden is fully enclosed to keep cats in - Delly has a lot of energy and a desire to explore. He's not a fussy eater - to be honest, he's a bit of a glutton so could do with being in a home where his food can be better controlled. Delly is vaccinated and microchipped and hasn't needed any non routine veterinary treatment.
  3. Jessie is about six months old and currently confined to the kitchen as the family's new baby is allergic to her - she is in the Milton Keynes area. Jessie is a very bright and intelligent girl who needs a home where she will be given stimulation and training, she is currently Staffie sized but still growing. She is an real sweetheart and will be a wonderful dog in the right home. Jessie needs either a home or a rescue place. Please contact me if you are able to help and I will pass your details to her owners.
  4. Milton Keynes area. I took in an abandoned queen and her five kittens a few weeks ago. The kittens are now ready to go to their new homes, but the home I had lined up for this little girlie has just fallen through. Please let me know if you are interested, I won't be letting her go to just anyone - she will stay with me for as long as it takes to find the right home. Molly has been wormed and flead, she is a real sweetie and if we weren't already keeping two black and whites, I would be very tempted to let her stay... but have to draw the line somewhere.
  5. Cher just text to say that Ebbi has gone to the Rainbow Bridge... I'm so sorry Cher *hugs* You did the best for Ebbi, as we all knew you would
  6. One of the things that really haunts me is that Cally missed out on so much. She never saw the woods, played in the river, or even chased a ball. I can only hope she is now able to do everything she missed out on in life
  7. The vet wanted Cally to be put to sleep months ago because her heart was so bad, but we agreed that as long she was happy, she would stay alive. She was never going to be a normal puppy. The fluid build up around her chest made her look emaciated no matter how much she ate - She got tired really easily, often needing to sleep at times when a normal puppy would be non stop bouncing - She loved her big brother, Zeus - The tablets helped for a while, though the vet warned that Cally was likely to drop dead at any point. We were determined that she should enjoy her life, no matter how long or short that life may end up being. Over the last month of her life, Cally started coughing. Not a lot, but just enough to show things were deteroirating. The diuretics started to lose their effectiveness and despite being on an increased dose, the fluid build up on her chest was putting more and more strain on her weak heart. On the morning of Cally's last day, she was very quiet and reluctant to move around. As the day progressed, the fluid on her chest increased dramatically and she got more and more uncomfortable. She refused to leave her bed, just lay there shaking and in pain - We left for the vets at 14.35 - my friend Tanja came and picked us up as there was no way I was in a fit state to drive. Cally couldn't even walk to the car so I had to carry her. Her abdomen was huge, so full of fluid. Dave met us at the vets having driven back early from Wales, Cally was his pup too. There were four of us with Cally when she died, and we all cried our eyes out. Cally's vet had said that she'd want to examine Cally before putting her down, but she just took one look at her and said I was right - the time had come, there was absolutely no doubt. Megan, vet, said she was surprised Cally had lasted so long - she had expected her to die much sooner. Seven months old though, no life at all... I collected Cally's ashes today.
  8. The RSPCA have provided a trap on a week's loan, fingers crossed this boy can be helped now - his condition has deteriorated so he really needs help now!
  9. Thank you, not got one sorted yet but the lady feeding the feral is hoping the RSPCA will have one she can use within days - the cat is now managing to eat again so not as desperate as it was, though he does still need help and she will make sure he gets it
  10. The waiting list is for the trap Fee Thanx for the suggestions everyone, I'll pass them on.
  11. Can anyone help by lending out a trap to catch an injured feral cat please? The lady who has been feeding him says he seems to have had a burst abcess from which the infection has spread and he is now not able to eat. She has tried her local CP but understandably they have a waiting list and this boy needs help now The cat is near Burton on Trent.
  12. I've seen one in the woods where I walk Zeus. It looked nothing like the pic the BBC used though, it was jet black all over and seemed a bit smaller than the greys I usually see.
