  1. Thanks for the Yantan, I think you're memory and mine must have met up somewhere and gone out on the razz... Barney is singing and me and saying he must go out...... Just read on my FB groups that one pony has been orribly mutilated in Wales, and another person has just come back from checking her Cob in Cambs, and found his tail had been cut on one side (ie has he been marked for stealing) I just can't stand how horrid this world has become
  2. If it's not a cracked rib,, it is possible I think to dislodge the cartledge, and that can be just as painful. Best get it checked huh? Feeling really negative today - fed up with OH dragging me down with his negative attitude - for example, told him I'd suggested #1 son look at lock smith apprenticeships - his response was 'he'll never do it'........ I really wonder why I bother. I had a dream the other day that I married my 1st fiance and was blissfully happy - his response - but you're happy now! He was telling me how I felt!! He wasn't listening...
  3. Spooky, just watching Downton having Sky+ it, and just as I was reading your post, guess who they were talking about!
  4. What a sweetie - she has a very knowing look - I think she knew you needed her...
  5. A few years ago, I used to look after a lovely Sec D broodmare. She wasn't mine, but the yard owner allowed me to treat her as if she was. After about 6 months, things went a bit 'peculiar' and I had to stop going to the yard Today, somebody posted a pic of her mare on a FB group I belong to - and it's her! She's 19 now, and looking very well (they've had her nearly a year, but it looks like she was in very poor condition when she arrived with them)
  6. I've got #2 son a bit of pocket money, he's earning it himself at the weekend by poo picking a ladies field! Ofcourse the fact that he'll going to be helping her 16 year old daughter has nothing to do with it.............
  7. If he calls your phone, can you not answer it and then he can leave a message. Then you can decide if you want to respond or not.
  8. Cheryl, could you pop a bucket in the loft, propped at the open end on a couple of books or similar, with some yummy food - in theory, any small furry would climb the books and slide down, eat yummy food and not be able to climb back out again (Grandmother, here's your egg to suck!)
  9. Spins4me good to see you back That's a great idea re getting it written down. He doesn't have a lot of friends (but those he does have are loyal and been around him a long time (10 years)so I hope he does talk to them)
  10. I use a netbook on the kitchen table - but couldn't do without my mini mouse and my ergonomic mouse mat.
  11. I am worried about my youngest. He's so like me it's frightening. For the last few days his mood has plummeted. He does the 'teenage shoulder shrug' when asked what he enjoys/is looking forward to etc. But this isn't 'normal' teenage behaviour - he can be lively and funny and so sharp he'd cut himself. but when he has these periods he's like a different person. He keeps getting detentions, then not attending them, so more and longer detentions as a result. He just doesn't seem to care. We remind him before he leaves for school, we make sure it's written in his planner/diary, but I suspect he chooses to ignore it. This is so typical of the way I used to 'take control' when I was his age. Back then, I'd also play truant (nowadays I'd call it a 'mental health day') when I felt particularly bad, but with all the electronic register and reporting to parents that goes on, this isn't an option for him. Besides, he had over a week off earlier in the year when he was so bad, we really thought he was 'ill' I've been in contact with his tutor who has been very supportive, he's seen the Dr (3 weeks ago) who was supposed to have been arranging a blood test at the hospital, but so far we've heard nothing (Dr is chasing this up for me) He's spoken to the school nurse, and the CAHMS nurse at school. Is there anything else I can do for him?
  12. So sorry. Sending strength for you to make the right decision for Tia when the time comes.
  13. Wiki says there is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Muppets_(film) The Muppets is an upcoming 2011 American musical and comedy film, and the first Muppets theatrical release in 12 years,[5] as well as the first Disney-produced Muppets film since 1996's Muppet Treasure Island. In the film, Walter (performed by Peter Linz), the world's biggest Muppet fan, and his brother Gary (Jason Segel) and friend Mary (Amy Adams) must raise $10 million to save the Muppet Theater from Tex Richman (Chris Cooper), a businessman who plans to demolish the Muppet Theater to drill for oil. The film is directed by James Bobin, written by Segel and Nicholas Stoller, produced by Martin Baker, David Furnish, Segel, David Hoberman, Todd Lieberman, and John Scotti, and features Bret McKenzie as the music supervisor. The film is being distributed by Walt Disney Pictures and is scheduled to be released in the United States on November 23, 2011 and the United Kingdom on February 17, 2012.[6][1][7][8][9] The film was first announced in March 2008 and production started in September 2010.[10][11][12] The film premiered at the 2011 Savannah Film Festival.[13] The film will feature six new musical numbers and three classic Muppet songs which are "The Muppet Show Theme", "The Rainbow Connection" and "Mah Nà Mah Nà." The film is rated PG for some mild rude humor,[2] making it the second Muppets film to receive a PG rating from the MPAA (the first being the 2002 television film It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie). However, it's the first theatrical Muppets film to receive a PG rating.
  14. Snow, you have a right to a personal private life and for that not to be disturbed, so can you ask them to respect that?
  15. He was quite a character wasn't he? I did some admin work at our local 'assylum' and used to find it quite a peaceful place, but the offices were probably a good way away from the wards for a reason. Some of the case histories were very sad.
  16. I watched that today too. Some of the treatment they dealt out was shocking - including being injected with drugs as punishment Did I hear right that there were infact 5 cousins in the Bowes-Lyon family who were considered 'imbeciles'? The behaviour of the young man seeking physical comfort reminded me of a young chimpanzee. Funnily I flicked over to CBBC to see an Autistic lad 'nesting' in his family home. We're not that different from the Apes really.......
  17. I think there should be a similar thing for our animals. Barney's would include a tennis ball. Missy's would be a cuddle.
  18. Owl, that sounds like a perfick Bonfire night. I hate the abuse pics on FB too, and the 'missing dog' ones - I empathise too much with the owners Def fewer fireworks here too, although they did seem to be a LOT louder. Missy totally ignored them (think that confirms she is deaf, although she still shouts when somebody slams the kitchen door or stomps upstairs!) Barney shouted at a few on Friday night, but when I started to go 'Weeeee, that was fun' he decided to leave the silliness to me....... I have shut them both out of the living room this morning, as I'm trying to stop B lying on the back of the sofa in the bay window and shouting at all the dogs that go past. I went in there earlier and found 11 year old Missy doing it too (for the first time in her life!) They have both gone back to bed now because it was that or lie on the kitchen floor (and their bed is a double thickness memory foam topper, so obviously warmer and more comfortable than a tiled kitchen floor)
  19. Good to see you back Yantan. Lesley - has 'the great chestnut lump of a mare' found a home yet?
  20. Alicia what are you like? I woke up yesterday with some throbbing glands in my neck - they seem to be taking it in turns to complain if I move or stand up too sharply. Planned on taking it easy today, only to find it's bin day and nobody has put the rubbish/compost bin out (bearing in mind we were on holiday last week) the compost wheelie bin was moved into the back garden while we were away and got fully loaded, so I had to struggle to get it out the front. Had to ask OH for help - he was 'in the middle of something' so I told him they were on their way (I could hear them in the next street) then he wonders why I am in a strop! #2 son refused to take the bottle box out because he was only wearing his shorts (damn it, I go out there in my pj's if I have to!) Then Missy decided she can get into the garage to get near the pet shop sized box of charcoal bonios which OH has helped her become addicted to, so I have to go and close garage door after handing bits of bonio out. Then Barney decides he needs a poo NOW, so he's ushered out into the garden and left there. After a couple of mins, he's sitting on the garden table, and behind him are some smeared bits of poo - he's walking in a very strange way and has a big lump protruding from his bum!!! This needs extracting, along with the clump of grass he's chewed some days ago. Inevitably it gets smeared, so his bum now needs washing........ Then the door bell goes, and it's my lovely neighbour telling me her 90 year old husband has passed away By now I need a coffee - but I break my cafetiere Open my emails to discover the new coffee maker I ordered is due for delivery within the next 30 mins!! It has no arrived, it's very shiny, and it is programmable - I can set it to make coffee ready when I come down in the morning. What a day!!! And it's only 12.30! So much for a rest.......
