Urgent Foster Home Needed For Sam

Recommended Posts

Oldies Club are urgently trying to find an already homechecked foster home Manchester-Liverpool-Stockport- Chester - Warrington area for Sam, a quiet older male dog.

Sam is of medium size and looks sort of yellow labX though probably more good old mongrel than any specific breed.

Sam has not lived with other dogs, but we think he would be OK with another quiet dog. He's not suitable for full time worker but can be left for some time: he's used to a retired owner.

Sam is fearful of cars, but is familiar with cats and we think he could be OK in a home with cats if introduced carefully.

We are looking for someone who has had a rescue homecheck, but are happy to take references from other rescues given the timescale!

Can you help? Please contact [email protected] if you can.

Please cross post.

Thanks so much for going to see him Marion, he looks like such a sweet boy wub.gif

We are desperate for a suitable foster home for Sam, he is currently on his own with people popping in to feed and walk him and can't stay where he is much longer.

Sam is around 11 yrs old and is neutered and vaccinated, and has been used to being in a home with an elderly owner who was around most of the time, he can get anxious about being left for too long.

He is quite a shy dog, but will come round to people once he knows them, he seems less worried by women than men. He has had little contact with children, so we'd prefer older/teenage children only. He really needs a quiet home with someone patient and gentle who can let him come round in his own time.

He's been an only dog but we think he's be fine with a quiet dog who didn't pester him. He seems to ignore the cats around where he lives, but we don't know for sure how he'd react to living with a cat.

He isin the Stockport area and doesn't travel well, so something not too far away would be ideal, but transporting further afield is possible if necessary.

If anyone would like more information about Sam or a chat about him please contact us on 08445 868656 or [email protected].

Sam is now in a foster home - and what's more we reckon he fits in with his new foster brother rather well biggrin.gifbiggrin.gifwub.gif
